Like Martin said if all you fly is Helis and the odd plank the DX7 is fine but if you play with gliders at all it's no good at all.

I have a PCM9X2 so opted for the module which works fine isn't the prettiest but has the sotfware that the 9X lacks to make gliders a breeze...

I now like the design, I didnt to start with. It feels alot nicer in the hands than the FF9 imho

I like how easy the kit is to setup

      I like the model matching

I like the small lightweight receivers

I like not having to wait for the peg

I dont like the modules because of the wire

I dont like the modules if your using both 35 and 2.4 as keep swapping them cannot be good

I dont like the chat thats been going on about low voltage cutouts

Overall the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, well for me anyway
Superb post and cannot add anything to what Tony has said.

I also fly with a friend who has the module on his FF9 and as quoted it looks a bloody mess with the wire round the back and is "VERY" prone to getting knocked off..
Another negative with the module device is if you use a transmitter tray be sure to have some cutting gear ready to hack the tray to allow the gubbings to hang through the bottom of it..

On the plus side of using the module you still retain all the features of the superb FF9 or JR whichever you own..

The DX7 is a cracking tranny though no question..

Think that the module aspect still has a way to go! Why the hell couldn't they run the same as 35 meg and just change the antenna . Looks would be better and more professional.

The servo sync function on the Dx7 is also brilliant,
especially if your heli is CCPM,
basically means that all the servos get the signal at the same time unlike 35MHz.
This means your swash will remain perfectly level through it`s whole travel no matter how fast you move it.
Because the servo`s get the signal in sequence on 35MHz, the swash doesn`t always stay level, which means the heli can go slightly left or right in a full power climb.
CSM made the Cycloc to counter that happening, Spektrum does it for you.

          Also the "Latency".
How quickly the servos move, when you move the stick.
          Much faster than 35MHz.
Feels like a different heli, first time you fly an old model on it.
          Align T-Rex 600n Pro (Now with 3GX)
          Align T-Rex 500CF(Gone)
          Align T-Rex 450 Pro
T-REX 250, had it since crimbo(bloody tail) want to smash it with a hammer
          T-Rex 700......STUNNING (Thirsty) (Now with 3GX)

No plank flyers were hurt whilst making this post

Needed to buy my first proper programmable Tx and the DX7 is great value for money.

Plus i like the small light receivers and very short receiver antenna wire!

Was no brainer for me also.
