Just want to get some info from Spektrum owners or people who have used Spektrum based systems or Futaba i spose

I have seen a few crashes caused by 35mhz lockouts in the last few months about 3 different helis and a few planes, various reasons but basically the pilot has crashed due to loss of control

I have NEVER seen a Spektrum equipped model suffer a similar fate

I am keen to hear of any actual hardware faults but these are prone on any electronics,,what i want is an answer based on whether you have lost control of the model for no obvious reason as thats the big issue, whether the RF link is sound..

    Please post comments

No technical comments please, lets keep this in laymans terms, let just trust that the system works,us lesser mortals dont need to be bothered with how

Read the reports that there were 500 odd Spektrum users freely using the system at will at IRCHA 07 without incident

I have not had one single incident in 10 months of DX7 use and know of nobody who has, also never heard of a problem on land based stuff

SSometimes took longer to bind than others - had to cycle the power on the tx a couple of times but no lock out issues. In fact, my 450SE V1 feels a lot more locked in for it.
All good from me (albeit, since the Hop farm show this year )

Was his 6100 rx a up-to-date one (software wise)?

i've had a lockout on my dx7 and 6100 in an edf jet. the thing done a huge axial roll by itself, was locked for a good 3-4 seconds.

            cheers

              His was an early one

I hear this is the prob with 2.4, when it goes FS/LockOut it lasts for 3 secs plus minimum not sure if its true though...

Thats incorrect, people are assuming its the same as when you switch the Tx off deliberately as when you switch it back on it searches for clear channels and then calls to Rx,this is what takes 3 seconds

It says somewhere and i will try to find it,that the Rx trys to re establsh a sound stream ever few milliseconds

had one since release, flown over 200 flights on it.....not one glitch.

Been using my dx7 for quite a while now with now problems at all,
I also had a edf jet go in with a ar6200 in it but the crash was due to a dodgy servo

I have seen a DX-7 tranny with a DX 6100 receiver lock out or go out of range but it just locked up basically.

Wasn't there an issue with capacitor in the 7100 comming loose due to vibration? (now fixed I belive)

Personelly waiting for the Futaba 12fg on 2.4ghz...

Also intrestingly Futaba has moved the channels around so they get the data packet at the same time so the CCPM delay is gone and there the same as JR and Spektrum. this is on the Futaba 12fg which someone has the club...

Also futaba's 35mhz has changed a bit some neat new features and it now locks onto a receiver. Also it will work with old receivers but the new ones are bit better than the old ones by the look of it.

About 2 months of faultless DX-7 operation. Now running half a dozen models of all types, and they have never been better to fly, even compared to my 12Z with G3 Rx.

                        2 1/2 months ago I was a sceptic...

DX-7 frame rate is still faster than 35mhz stuff though...

35mhz is on borrowed time I grant you but i'm still waiting for the real stuff to arrive. DX-7 is all Now but you wait it will all change again sooner or later...

Well on paper the G3 has about 10% better latency than the DX-7, but flying wise it feels the other way round.

No probs here other than an occasional delay in locking on on switch on.
Only done 6 gallons on my 50 and 40 trex450 flights approx on it so far.

should run a parallel poll with 35Mz!
Then polls for each manufacturer on 35Mhz...
Then we can do fuel, to death, again
