Thanks for the replies, I might take a look at the Aurora 9 but I'm leaning towards the DX8 due to price, features and compatibility with ready to fly models, ease of use of the menus is not really important as I'm pretty competent that way but the DX8 seems to have the better menus and intuitive controls from all accounts on line etc so that has to go towards it as well. Here in NI the spektrum wouldn't be the most popular with most people going with Futaba, Hitec, JR and the occasional sanwa.

Think you got the programming the wrong way round, the aurora has a far better & easier touch screen menu system compared to the dx8/dx7/dx6
