Haven't you realised yet that all modelling businesses are exempt for any of the normal retailing laws ?

I epoxied not only my capacitor, but the 2 little stacked boards as well, turned my Rx into a lump of plastic that'll probably over-heat now
        Janek

Why does it always persist down at weekends ?

It's only the AR9000's that have the issue, I believe they've replaced the capacitor with a surface mount jobby on the very new ones, UK stock is prolly still the old ones though...

one of these days they will surprise us all by releasing a new technology that is fully tested and in perfect working order prior to release.

and Janek is dead right, how come their bad design can cost US money, if you get anything else thats faulty its normally replaced, but it seems if a radio product goes pop the damage caused comes out of the owners pocket.
                    All the best
                    Tony.
