  • DX 8 warning

hello just wanted to let u guys know about the DX8 signal lost warning, yesterday when i was flying my heli went in and i didnt know y at the time i had a 600 fitted with the telemerty system and it was working well at the time but when i was flying not to far away from me the heli lost signal and went into fail safe and came crashing to the ground thank god the crash was not to bad.
At the time i didnt know what caused the crash and y it went into fail safe but when i had a look at the flight data log i had 133 F and 1 H i didnt know what that ment so i went home and did some reading and found out what it all mean, so what i discovered is that up to 20 F is ok but any thing over is bad and 1 H is not good at all so that y the heli went in to fail safe because it lost signal so after the info that i got they recon that carbon fiber can couse the problem and also where u have the arials positioned so i repositioned the RX with the arial pointing dowm( i stuck it to the nose) and i put the sat arial on the left side with the arial across.

Went out and tried it today and it worked well i had 10 F and 0 H witch is very good as long as its below 20 F that good any thing over is bad and even 1 H is really bad so if any one else out there thats havinf this problem try and repositioned the arial and i also set a warning at 10 F and 1 H

Have you done or did you prior to flying a range test? Does your set suffer a limited range as others have reported? I wonder if the range test is failing in a similar way that you lost control due to rx positioning?

it's good it can help work out why... but still the cost of the crash is not covered by the DX8 losing it's signal.

Did you do a range check at all?

When you say you looked at the flight data log, what do you mean? I thought the DX8 just showed live telemetry data without actually recording it for later analysis -have I got this wrong?

yes it shows it live but u will have to put it on the screen for telemetry and at the time i didnt have it on the screen but now i fly with the telemetry screen

Not really a warning about the dx8 but a warning for rx antenna placement??

I noticed the other week that the satelite was flashing on my 500 and it was down to the fact the end of one antenna had found itself going in one of the circular holes in the main frame and touching, now have heatshrink keeping them dead straight with no further issues
