  • DX7 Gimbal Center Problem

    Heya All,

A bit of a waird problem here so here goes,

Well i run my sticks pretty loose, probably not as loose as some people, but loose so the centering force of the spring is not that much, but it still centers fine, but when i was setting up my cyclock i noticed that it would not sense the center stick on Ailerone, Hmm?

So i went into the servo monitor and sure enough its just a click or two trim off center, i wiggle the stick and its a bit better but mostly its not.

So I disassemble the Tx backcase and increased the stick tension so now it centers alot sharper, But these seems to have made it worse,

For you to get an idea of what its like if you center one of your trim controls and click it either left or right 3 times thats how far it is off center.

So anyway, Im a bit stumped. i go trough all the mixes and there are non set, check everything including expo since that can make an effect and it still does it,

So i launch up my Sim Model Memory on the Transmitter and it perfectly centers fine? im confused, switched back and the same issue occurrs go back to the Sim Model memory and its fine.

Has anyone had this issue before?

    Regards
    Callum

Maybe you need to adjust the factory settings to re-centre that channel correctly? I'm aware that this can be done although haven't tried it myself!

Or maybe less dangerous would be just to reset the model memory that you are having a problem with and re-setup again - seeing how the memory used for the simulator seems to centre correctly when you view the servo monitor?

      Hey Callum

Theres a "secret" service menu that will allow re-calibration but use it with caution.

Power up the 7202 with SCROLL DOWN & SELECT pressed, use DOWN to get to Model Reset, DOWN & SELECT to enter the reset menu, use the AILE D/R Switch to toggle with the EDIT + & -. 5 Cycles takes you into the Service Menu.

Entering the menu gives you a Dark Screen (pixel test), Scroll Up gives you Switch Test, SCR UP then gives you Battery Alarm and Displayed Voltage, SCR Up then gives you Stick Centres ( Hex Codes), SCR Up then gives you Stick Calibration, use the CLEAR to save the data, use SELECT to select the stick being calibrated, SCR Up gives you "ALL Settings OK ? " press the CLEAR key for Yes.

If that doesnt fix it then do a fresh model.

Reset the model memory and its does the same, i have also checked the sim model and it is now doing the same.

I have also re-calibrated my stick center to no avail.
