I think there are now a few of us using this new radio so I'm sure we can help with any questions from prospective buyers and provide a little feedback on the experience so far.
I'll add a few photos to this post later today so if there is anything specific you want to see just ask.
I'll kick off with a few observations.
Unlike Spektrum/JR we don't have to worry about CE compliance when deciding where to buy as it seems Hitec are shipping the CE version everywhere.
In the USA, the importer there has a great offer running until the end of next month which provides a 2nd 7 channel receiver free and a 3rd at half-price so it softens the cost of changing and replacing receivers in the process.
This is an offer from the importer not Hitec, so don't expect to see this one in the UK, but even over here, the price of this radio and the receivers compares very well to the alternatives.
One of the big plus points on this radio for me was the knowledge that both the TX and RX can be upgraded by the end user with a small low cost device PC interface device called the HPP-22
The same device also allows you to load/save configurations from your TX so no more making notes on bits of paper.
As standard the Aurora provides telemetry between the RX and TX and displays the RX pack voltage on the TX so it is easier than ever to make sure you don't push things too far. Additional sensors are due later this month offering things like RPM, temperature, fuel levels and even GPS.
Additionally the RX provides an alternative power connection which can be fed direct with up to 35V so you can bypass the regulator/ESC/BEC and take a parallel feed direct from a lot of LiPo packs which means the TX will show actual pack voltage and you don't have to worry about low-voltage brown-outs due to your servos competing with the RX for power from the regulated circuit.
Enough for now though, I'm sure others have good/bad points to add and some of you may have questions that need answering.
Hope this helps.
