With the DX7, Ive seen the reciever for these and its 2 parts both with small aerials that have to go in opposing direction joined by wire.

When I was talking to a guy in a shop he said the two parts need to be the length of that wire apart.

    A. is this right?

    b. if so how do you mount it in something small like a T-rex 450?
    All the best
    Tony.

Well, I need a new RX for my Trex450 so I think I have found the excuse I have been looking for.
Can anybody point me towards a good deal/place to pick up a DX7 kit and a AR6100 or AR6000. Feel free to PM if you rather not publicly disclose such info.

I will be moving form a 9C super to the DX7 on both my Trex450 and Raptor 50.

Raptor50luvver you seem to think like me on these matters so I look forward to your input.

        Thanks in advance.

Best thing you can do is get yourself a Eagletree micro logger, that way you can see exactly what the battery is doing, what the motor is pulling (Amps,Watts) and what is being taken out of the battery, Temp of motor/batt. and RPM.

You can then download this to your PC when you get back home and see whats what.

Heres a link to where you can get them over here

As others have said - the AR6100 is perfect for the Trex 450 size heli's -- with regard to the Ar7000 I believe a couple of inches apart does the job - with the aerials at 90 degrees to each other in either plane.

The purpose of the 2 receivers is to maximise your ability to receive a signal. The ideal is to place the 2 receivers as far apart as possible, and with the aerials in different orientations.

The theory is that if some external interferance causes one signal to fall, the same interference will not have the same effect on the other receiver due to its different placing.

This is a common practice in many other radio systems including professional wireless microphones and is called a 'diversity' system.

Total balanced recharge was 1998mah precisely
For 5 mins of flight that sounds very wrong, should be much more than that unless you were taking it mega easy.

                  Thanks Ash,,

I will fly it again tomorrow and see what it takes this time,,i did several aero moves etc but i am normally easy on not over pitching and being smooth,,

                  thanks

                  Nutz

I can highly recommend the DX7,in my opinion it is a god send,,however i dont know what other manufacturers are gonna release

Futaba are rumoured to be announcing soon and JR are rumoured to be doing some sort of deal with Spektrum which is sort of connected to them anyway

Spektrum will be here to stay anyway so investing in their products for me is not a concern,,they totally dominate in the RC car side of things with no other companies competing at present,,

I think the DX7 is a perfect radio,i dont see the need to go over 7 channels anyway for the forseeable future and if i did then by then they would have a higher channel Tx anyway,,

I find the DX7 very user friendly,,i have used a JR PCM10S for 5 years now,it has touch screen, yipeee, loads of mixes, hooray, and loads of switches, yeh well cool

Dont need any of it,DX7 ****es all over it and the model DOES feel totally locked in,,,

Mr Models has the DX7 system in stock and the AR6100 Rx also,,

The AR6100 will be ideal in your 450 and the supplied AR7000 Tx would suit your raptor...

Mr models is as cheap as any and does free postage...

Maybe wise to call him and say Chris who flies with him put you on to him,i think he will do a better deal over the phone and accepts Paypal

Don't do extreme 3D but like to give my Trex600 plenty during a flight and regularly fly 6 mins with a 4900 FP - XL motor - 10 tooth pinion - and my recharge figures are about 3900 milliamps.
