Maplins PSU isnt man enough,,,they recommend 22A and the Maplin one is 10

Going to agree with Phil on the 9X2, best radio out there. Not only that but apart from the DX7, and the 12MZ and 14MZ it also has the lowest latency and transmits the eCCPM channels (2,3,6) one after the other to reduce interaction from latency. Marvellous.

          Hi Guys

I'm new here so i hope i'm not butting in. If your looking for a power supply over 22 amps there is this

          CTX-P Power Master Worlds Edition2 / 24A
          http://www.apexmodels.com/product-se...at=man&man=125

It is quite pricey at £99.99 but its a great little unit. i have one for my car racing.

          Cheers

I discovered you have good taste in radios, so it was inevitable

Being a reentry into the model world, I love the idea of the DX7 but i'm not impressed by the radio itself, what it has enabled me to do is pick up an almost new 9C for silly money cos my mates changed.

so its done me a favour, think i'm gonna wait for the dust to settle alittle before spashing out again. see what the other manuifacturers get up too.
                  All the best

Thing is the most complex item in the whole package is the pilots brain

No 1500 pound fancy radio is gonna make you fly any better

A good pilot will be able to fly with any half decent radio as per the Szabo vids with the DX7,,

And the DX7 is at least half decent i think everyone will agree,,just gotta work on my brain now

Do We All Need The Best To Enjoy This Hobby ??

Im with raptor50 luvver on this - At one time it was only the competion and sponsored fliers that had the " professional sets " and club fliers managed quite well with lesser sets - now it's become the norm for us to use £1300 Tx's -£100+ servos - £100 Rx's - £250 for a gyro and servo - Do we lesser mortals/clubfliers really need all this??

From my past experience I fully agree, starting up again in the hobby I see alot of changes, equipment, rules, models etc. but at the end of the day its down to the individual pilot. I don't think at the moment I will ever be able to do half the stuff ive seen on vids even with the best equipment on the planet. however with regard to the Spektrum gear I can see real positive benefits for pro and beginer alike if I was in the market to spend £250+ on new radio gear to equip ALL planes and choppers then thats the way I would probably go. just the peace of mind not to be on the same frequency as some numpty down the road running his r/c car up and down the carpark on 35mhz.

As it happens what i'm doing is like starting all over again so utilising some of the equipment I already have put together this new(secondhand) stuff to get me into the air, once there and once ive got some confidence back(and figured out all these computer controls) then I may start spending some money on some equipment with added benefits.

phew what a mouthful, speach over

                        well I think

                        almost

                        Definately is now

                        end...
                        All the best

I have a 9X2 and a DX7. The T-Rex 600 is running on the DX7, it used to be on the 9X2. So, question......am I missing anything by not having all the 9X2 bells and whistles, does the 600 fly worse for being on a less function rich radio?

No, quite the opposite, the 600 flies better on the DX7 and all those bells and whistles are just that....bells and whistles, no need for any of them.

Unless I want to buddy box someone, then I need the 9X2 back as the DX7 buddy switches are cack

Agree on the trainer switch, not ideal but i have used it to train and got on Ok with it

Flew my T Rex 600 in a park today for 5 mins of general sport flying, useing my DX7 so i dont have to worry about interference,,

She flies bloody lovely, smooth as silk and sounds well smart

Very pleased with the whole package,,The DX7 may not be everybodys cup of tea and of course other manufacturers will release their own version

All of these new systems will work well and if definitely makes the model more responsive,,

Gonna up my flight time to 6 mins now as Lipo only needed 2600mah to fully recharge and balance

HELP NEEDED FROM LECCY GUYS AGAIN

Calculations above were wrong as charge was interuupted due to a low input batt voltage

                                5 mins flying T Rex 600,,10 tooth pinion,600l motor,1850 headspeed,circuits,forward and backward loops at least 30 i would say,front flips about 10

Total balanced recharge was 1998mah precisely

                                Does this sound correct

                                APLUS 6s2p 4500mah Lipo,,temp 1 min after flight was 40 degrees
