I can't quite remember how I used to do it but i think it was like this
    Here goes nothing
gyro output switching should be either ch5 or ch7 use ch5.
rudder offset -100 to +100% and is on ch5.
Set these to say -50 one side of the switch and +50 on the other side
of the p.mix (ch.5/inv) switch. one side should then be hold and the other rate mode.
Please if anyone disagrees with this please chime in! as I said above it's a few years since I programmed this radio and I am getting old. Come to think of it rate gyro's were a new gimmick when I bought this radio never mind heading hold.
And of course my disclaimer.......................Trust no one.
    good luck

      Hi Guys,

Thanks for your help on this, but I have managed to fix the tail wobble thingy without persuing the Gain issue.

I reconfigured the entire tail from scratch, and mechanically set it up (this would be the 3rd time). Cut the push rod arm by 1cm and adjusted the gyro (for the millionth) time.

It looked brill, but had a slight tail wobble, then I just figured what the hell, lets play with the Pitch and Throttle curves....and BAM!! Sorted.

I cannot begin to thank you for all the assitance (and patience) you have given me Rob.

      Thanks again.
