if it's a uk legal set it will be very easy to spot it with the correct equipment. i have a CE sticker INSIDE the module on the board. i distinctly remember seeing it when i put quad bearings in it.

it's reassuring to know you think safety and the law is a "load of old bollox"

there are no marks in this module, maybe its different in your futaba.

if i thought saftey was bollox i wouldn't be going through this would i ?

I just fail to see how anyone can justify spending that sort of cash on a Tx when something 1/4 of the price does pretty much the same job.

Unless you are flying Jets there is no justification at all apart from mental instability or it is making up for inadequacies elsewhere, possibly in the trouser dept

In the fixed wing section of one of the clubs I fly at there's a member who bought a 14MZ as soon as they were available. Said member is barely able to fly and still regularly rips undercarriage off on landing. I asked him if he was using the new receiver in his Wot 4 and the relpy was "no, I don't want to damage it in a crash", asked why he bought the 14MZ, "because I can afford it". In this instance it's just male jewellery.

My aspirations are a DX9 but with the way prices are rising it's getting more unlikely

A lot of people buy things they don't need or appreciate. Unfortunately if we only bought things we need the whole world economy would collapse. He's keeping the wheels turning. I agree it's sad but a lot of people are very materialistic and think they are better than others who have less. Mind you I'd rather have money to spend on things I don't need rather than not having money for things I do.

Thanks for the heads up on the ce sticker and how dangerous it is!

First of all it was purchase second hand from europe secondly it has a CE sticker,

And not to **** on someones fire! I got a free DX7 along with a synergy that was purchased from America that also had a ce sticker,

Why jump the gun when you don't know the facts!!!!!

the CE sticker is worth no more than the sticky paper it was made...

right... now i have your attention.

a few people have asked me about this on both futaba and JR/spektrum sets.

i have talked to the right people, this is trustworthy info not second hand.

firstly for CE in the uk in the dx7 they made a different RF board. however most uk dx7s actually have the USA rf board in it.

secondly, all the futaba 12fgs are the same. its simply not economic to make different versions for different places.

so given this information. i think you would be safe in court if you could proove there is no difference between the tx you were using and the UK "legal" ones.

ade, until someone challenges this we will never know 100% what is and what is not legal in the uk. man it was easier when 35mhz WAS 35mhz...lol.

i would still urge anyone considering buying stuff to buy is locally, especially spektrum as FHHS (fasst) complies with the rules anyway as ade points out.

I've got a Spektrum module in my JR 9XII which came out of the first batch sold. I've heard rumors these were set on US output too, anyone no the truth of this?

dude, i'm in the same boat as u i think. both my TX and module were bought in the UK. im have NO CE marks . My concience is clear (it went with the 500 notes i paid).
