      i have this one,

      http://www.blinktrading-online.co.uk...037dc5e3ad9798

perfect fit in the case of my 9x2 so will slot straight in. comes with connectors for both JR and Futaba. I get 12hrs "on" time.

        Ade,

        Interesting.

The nominal voltage is 11.1v against a nominal of 9.6v for the std batt.

How does this affect the Tx circuitry? Can they cope with voltages up to, say, 13v for a fully, just charged lipo???

        Cheers

        David

I've been using a lipo in my 9X2 for a good while now with no problems although I do leave the transmitter to stand for an hour or so before turning it on to let the voltage drop a little.

            Hi Steve,

I worry about taking the batt out to charge. Not long before the connectors break. Or do you charge in the Tx??

            Cheers

as im on JR i can leave the battery in the tx and plug into the futaba connector. Spektrum is the same.

the futaba connector is a servo connector which are pretty tough.

the extra voltage is no issue. a fully charged nimh in good nick will sit at 12v for a short time. A li-po peaks at 12.6 but that soon drops to just under 12.

Suppose you could charge via one of the spare connectors or put a short servo lead extension in & unplug / plug that instead

I have a 2000mha nicad in my FF7 and I am always taking it out to charge it anyway so taking a lipo out will not be an issue.

                  Thanks for tthe info.

I've bridged the diode in the charge circuit on my PCM9X2 so I charge through the charge socket to avoid disconnecting and reconnecting the battery. I take the battery cover off and use a passive balancer on the balance tap although it's always in balance as the current drain in use is tiny. My charger also has a temperature sensor which I put on the battery so if there was a problem and the battery started to get warm the charger would cut off.
