I've never noticed a buzz with my dx7, but if I put my ear to it it does have a barely audible buzz.

Thanks for all the feedback chaps it's been a real buzz!!
seriously tho my buzz is loud enough to warrant a call to horizon I think, plus they may also be aware of probs on the rudder channel!

Jamie - if you get to the bottom of the " buzz" please post as I think there are enough people on here who would be very interested in the statement from Horizon. regards

I was assured by a very helpful chap at Horizon today that a buzzing DX7 is completely normal! He gave no clues as to what was causing the buzz but as long as its not a problem I am not bothered.
He did seem to think though that the loss of right rudder in flight could be a set problem so it will be going back to the place it was bought from to be checked, replaced or repaired (bugger, I have to go back to the 35meg set again for a while ).

Mines always buzzed a little mind. I heard it was normal and read a thread about it somewhere so i aint done anything about it. Its never bothered me and i only notice it in the house and when its silent.

i was told it was something to do with one of the coils inside the unit if that makes sense. Apparently it happens to the UK units but not the US ones. Ill see if i can find the thread on the darkside.
                        Cheers

Right apparently the voltage regulator in the dx7 isn't a very efficient one and this is where the buzzing noise comes from. There are posts on the darkside from a guy that explains how to change it for another unit that he says will also double your battery time. Could be a good mod but only if your warranty has already ran out Do a search for 'DX7 Buzzing'.
                          Cheers

I would not reccommend it lol, I did it but its very easy to damage the RF output board and Horizon Hobby charge £40 to replace it

Id only ever recommend it if your warranty has ran out anyways. As with anything really.

                                JFYI,
The hobby store that I pruchased the DX7 from happily exchanged it for a new set. I have set up the heli once again and ran four packs through it. The problem with the right rudder is no longer there!! Yippee
Oh yeah the new set buzzez as well!
                                JAMIE,
