  • Adding grip to the back of transmitter possible? DX7

    Hey guys,

The DX7 is a great radio, but as you know it rains a lot here in the UK... When I put down the TX on the grass to plug the lipos in etc it gets pretty wet, now I can try to wipe it off but it never comes completely off.

It feels slippery a little in flight, I use a neckstrap+Gforce balancer and the pinch method it doesn't effect my flying I just don't like the feel of it much.

Even when it isn't wet it's still not perfect.

I was thinking of perhaps making a longer stand for the DX7 to keep it out of the wet grass or some kind of grip spray on the back side?

I remember on my last cheap RTF TX I just got a knife and cut up lots of cross grooves, this is one thing I will NOT be doing on my DX7 lol! Although it did help slightly with that TX.

Sandpaper is really grippy, so I was wondering if there was some kind of solution or spray that gives the same effect.

    Any thoughts on this?

    Thanks.

    Skateboard grip-tape maybe?

Just wondering if they're any negatives of having to much grip...

      Epoxy and sand . (joke)

Perhaps sand and copydex latex glue so that it can be removed (that stuff you used to peel off your fingers in school...)

PVA is it not water solubable? CY uses anti-slip pads ..looks a little like carpet underlay TBH..

Sounds perfect, I wonder how permanent it is, I would like something I don't have to re-apply every time I put it down in wet grass etc .

                Thanks!

CY = Curtis Youngblood? Wow . Couldn't find any pics...

Man, that looks like something out of junk wars or something . he's really into "homemade" lol!

Thanks very much for finding that! It does look like carpet underlay, looks just right, molds to your shape, gives grip and avoids water/sweat...

Ring or email MacGregors and ask about the 10X rear grip pads. These are self adhesive and stick on easily.
