You might use the left and right ATVs to get the heli piro-ing at the same speed in both directions (i.e. diferent values each way), and then use the DRs to slow down or speed up the prio rate by a proportional amount. I've never known DRs to have seperate values for each direction.

Ok, we're getting somewhere here I think... because thats what the discussion has been about

The point was that End Points or D/R could be used to set the piro rate...
I'm now on the line of thinking that this won't work effectively as D/R cannot have different settings for both rotation directions.

      Cheers,
      Rob

        i'm pickled here....or i wish i was infact!

the next item on the agenda is working out why the synergy part quality is crap....let the games commence.

seriously, my radio has dual dual rates so i used to use this but you make a very good point. fact is either will work though.

        cheers

Going back to my previous example where you need say 90% ATV to piro left and 120% ATV to piro right with both directions being at the same speed.

Now if you want to reduce the rate of piro in both directions to 60% of the initial setting, you can now do one of two things - you can either set the DR to 60% and have it on a switch (nice'n'handy), or you can reset your ATVs to 54% left and 72% right, which is then not switchable for most Txs.

Both will give the same end result, it's just that the DR option is now switchable.

it rules till you smack the frames....OUCH!

if the synergy flew like the quality of the parts they would be in real trouble. i have said it before and i will sya it again. the synergy is the best flying heli i have flown and the worst i have built. about sums it up.

                cheers

Yes, the genuine JR frames require a mortgage to replace, but there are some very reasonably priced after-market alternatives available now.

I think Real Raptors do some, and so do Quick UK.

                    Quick question for you
Have you flown the Vibe 90?
I haven't had a play with a Synergy yet (sadly) so can't compare them.
But the Vibe is an awesome machine to fly
Silky smooth, rock solid, goes where you tell it, very agile and powerful.

                    Cheers,

rob, no i have not flown a vibe. have flown a vigor but thats it. have flown the rest of the common machines though.

i know a couple of people who have both and they tell me the vibe is really nice but the synergy seems to get more air time as it flies better. now flying better is relative imo.

                        cheers

                          True
                          I've heard the opposite said
I guess they're both pretty good then!

they are quite different machines. the synergy feels like you can do what you want with it and it will just carry on flying, the vibe is a bit smoother but doesnt have that same bullet proof feeling in the air

the last thing for me really is the dollar signs... i never normally suffer this with a heli but the vibe is constantly reminding me of the cost of the frames, mainshaft etc.

Agreed about some of the parts prices on the Vibe - some stupidly high prices - and if JR want to sell more kits in the UK, they desperately need to look at this because it's a problem, wether they like it or not.
There's a lot less to break on the Vibe of course, which makes a crash cheaper anyway - best bet is to not crash, of course
I guess how a heli feels to each person can differ - for me, the Vibe is great, but then, a great heli with the best gear in it is probably going to feel and behave pretty good

                              Cheers,
