701 fantastic gyro , easy to set up and holds very well
611 gr8 gyro not as easy as the 701 to set up
520 gr8 gyro, easy to set up etc
401 plug and play, common as dog droppings
spartan quark does what it says on the tin
770t fantastic piro rate but drifts like most jr gyros
          cheapo gyros waste of time

make sure the heli is vibe free and put some good pads on the gyro (no double sided tape from the pound shop)

The Solid G is a good gyro - save your money, do some web research and persist with it would be my advice.

Best tail hold I've ever had is on the beastx - Used DS760 and Futaba before but the beast seems to be spot on.

Spartan (either Quark or 760) for me. They just work. The CSM720 is a great gyro with fantastic Piro rate but is a bit more picky than the spartan to setup sometimes (seen a few with issues).

As has been said, there is very little between all modern gyro's so it's really personal preference

Any gyro that aint affected by Windows 7 I may borrow my mums laptop as that has an older version of windows which should allow the CSM software to run ok. I've been using a GP750 on my Logo for a long time now & i think it's a great gyro, so easy to set up, easier than a 401 but better. 720's are not hard to set up, it just looks more complicated when you have lots of things you can tweek, they do like a perfect mechanical set up though.

Keep the solid G, come down to North Downs Flyers and get all the help setting up you could need. Loads of people use 'em there.
