    Thanks Tim for that.

I've got a slight tail wobble on my 700 with the 3G FBL system. I could live with it, but I'm quite critical of heli setups, so may well try fitting a tail gyro.

      Right..

I can only tell you how mine is setup and working as near perfect as I can get it.

3G Sensor is mounted using 1mm double sided sticky tape.. "No gyro pad used".

Edge 693mmFBL Blades makes one hell of a difference, Try them if you already havent.

Gains on the 3G are up at 55% (5 past on the clock face) for both Elevator and Aileron.. (No bounce)

GY520, Mounted as seen in the picture with thick sensor pad-->metal plate-->1mm Double sided tape to the heli.

Gyro gain at 48% on my DX7SE and the thing fly's on rails.

I'm absolutely over the moon with the 3G FBL system. I've fitted it to my other 700, but I'm still waiting for another Scott Gray voltage regulator form Fast Lads before flying my second one. I would never go back to a flybar heli now.

One of our club members is a test pilot for CSM and he's flown all sorts of helis with the CSM FBL system. But he's forever messing around with the setup and plugging his laptop into the cyclock to adjust the settings. He was amazed that when I test flew my 700 with the 3G how it flew with very little setup involved. I did however pay a lot of attention to the mechanical setup. I'm using Radix 710 SB blades which according to posts on this forum aren't supposed to work very well. But I can say that they work fine on my 700!!!

        Thanks for the info Tim!!!

Just spent a while studying my set up, I'm really stuck for alternatives as my 700 runs on a twin battery pack loaded from the rear eliminating the use of any space around there!

I did however manage to relocate my Gyro & 3G sensors to what I hope will be more forgiving as far a vibes are concerned!

          Cheers

CSM doesn't really have an official flybarless system...... more a case of you can make it work but it's not that easy (been there, done that).

There has been talk of a CSM flybarless system and if it ever does appear I'm sure it will be very different to the cyclock and multiple gyro system that CSM pilots have played with.

The easy test for suitable gyro locations is with engine running at idle place your finger lightly where you might like to mount the gyro. Then try other locations the same way. You can easily feel where the best places are (least vibration).

The club member that I was talking about earlier does get his CSM FBL systems working very well indeed but for me it's just too much setting up required. In fact we were flying his Logo 500 fitted with the CSM FBL last Sunday and it was awesome.

yeah, you can get them working well, just not easy to do.
