I have removed the magnets before on no less than 3 accounts. Don't ask why!
Anyway, I dremmeled them out carefully.
I don't know if it essential but if only using one magnet I always use a counter-weight in the other hole to even up the balance of the fan.
    Ade.

      Er yes I think
We were discussing it the other day
But he's Dremmeled one out now (machasm)
So does the Revloc do 35000rpm?

i doubt it lol, shouldn't be too hard to remove a magnet though either by prying it or drilling it out, couold always get a really big magnet and pull it out with that

Two magnets just give twice the revs
So set the Revloc at half of the normal speed
          17500 / 2 = 8750rpm

A club mate has 6 magnets on the main gear
          So his is 2100 x 6 = 12600rpm
But isnt that ment for slow reving engines???

Coz i did think about doing that aswell

I swapped an egnine complete with fan etc from my align gov heli into my revlock heli and I couldn't get the revlock to work - not at half speed either. No matter how I adjusted the sensor it wouldn't get the sensor OK light.
Just put the other engine and fan back in and it works now.

Yeah. If the revlock is only expecting to see one magnet pulse per revolution then two magnets would make it think the engine is turning double-speed. But if memory serves the range of RPM available is like 8,000 to 20,000,

I've removed and reused them before too, including out of an Align ali clutch bell and plastic fans etc. Simply drill through very carefully from the opposite side with a 1.5mm drill. Take care not to drill into the magnet itself if you want to re-use it as this can de-magnetise it. A little bit of care and a sharp tap with a little drift pin will pop it out easily.

Another thing I've done is to put a 1.5mm drill through the back of the mounting holes before putting the magnet(s) in in the first place. This does 3 things - stops the magnet hole from getting air-locked when you sink the magnet in, gives a better key for the epoxy and makes it easier to tap out the magnet should you need to.

Finally managed to get round to drilling both of my magnets out today on the pillar drill

Im sure its achievable with a bog standard drill though if you are careful.
