Which gyro to go for.

I'm looking at getting a new gyro but unsure which to get as I not bothered looking to much at them lately as I have been happy with my Spartans.

People say different things about different gyros, this is better cos of this and this is better cos of that. What I'm looking for is the best holding gyro out there.

So what would you go for?

Spartans for me, smooth and consistant with a rock solid hold

Of the 4 you list I use 3 of them and can't complain about any of them. As I'm not sponsored and not flying high class competition I don't worry too much about sticking to a single type. Only thing I do is avoid ones i just don't like the feel of

csm 720's for me .. 720's hold rock solid and dont blow out ... also you can play with the settings to make em stop and start as fast/slow as you like ...piro consistency is also better than most out there ...

Got the GP750, going to buy the GP780 for next model.

Have used the little align gyro on blade 400, trex 600e, trex 60nsp and a century gasser. with no complaint :-)

csm 720 stunning gyro..and i like the gy520 but still yet to try one

The only thing I think of with the CSM's is they are old, same with the 611. I dont doubt their ability but think surely these modern gyros must offer something the old ones dont.

Thinking the GP780 myself or the 520.

i guess most of them now are much the same, just have different characteristics for tuning.

only if doing hard, fast 3d i think its going to be noticeable in terms of holding and tail bounce.

Why would you say that the new ones on the block must offer something different. Duncan Osbourne recently converted one of his 700's to flybarless and in the end had to refit the 720 because the Align one just wasn't up to the job. Now for me if he flys one with the amount of piro work he puts in then I think it's good enough for anyone. I use one and can't comment on the others as haven't seen the need to change.

Gy 520 the way to go, have a 401 on the raptor gy 520 on the velocity both good but the gy520 is the one to have.

Becuase they are newer technology I would have thought that they offer something different and better.

As with all new things they tend to be better than the old stuff.
