I am using the Avro servo arms on mine (JR servos). When I bought mine, I copied the settings from the sellers DSX9 to mine. I noticed that there was some subtrim. It bothered me at first, but I figured that as the model was originally set up by Dave Fisher, if subtrim was good enough for him then its good enough for me!!
    Hi Russ,
I don't have a problem with subtrim but 100 subtrim seems massive - if it was 20 or 30 I would not worry.

Maybe I should try it and see what happens.

Just out of interest how much did it have?

    Regards

      Hi Paul

Mine has 42 on the aileron, 20 on the elevator and 6 on the pitch. It does seem odd that you have needed over 100 clicks. In the past, the most I have ever needed is 70 odd, & that was when the arm was out by about the same amount when fitted in two positions (if that makes sense)
      Cheers Russ

I think I will wait until the new servo horns come and see if they are any better - if not will chance the subtrim and see what happens - Don't worry, I will keep all you posted.

On point to bear in mind is that if I was starting again I would give the 610s a miss

        Regards and thanks to all.

Do Futaba horns fit on Align servos?

For what it's worth, I think your over-complicating this a bit. All you need to do is as Lee suggested early on - get some plain plastic round servo discs - Futaba do some great big ones with no holes which you can very easily drill and cut to shape with ease.

The need for metal servo horns is questionable - one thing it will do is introduce extra rigidity into the system - in the event of a crash, any impact shocks from the head will be translated directly into the servos and could easily cause unnecessary broken bits. Plastic horns will offer some protection to your servos. I also believe that there are very few pilots who could actually honestly tell the difference in flight between a heli with plastic servo arms and one with metal ones.

Fashion your own horns as described, and you'll get all three spot on with zero sub trim.
