    Thanks guys for the options/advice,
    Do i need to consider rx battery options into the equation,4.8 v ni-mh or lipo/regulator combo.

      you don't need to consider battery options just for a gyro. you should consider it though long term. just now the best bang for buck would be the align setup and a 2000mah ish 2s lipo. if you want to spend more then imo the elyq is the best i've had.

        Been reading about the flight tech 8a with its matching lipo but haven't heard of the elyq but will have a look on the web.

          I'm pretty new to heli's and obviously too inexperienced to know the average from the good and the good from the excellent. I have the JR G770 & 8900 on my T Rex 600NS and I find the gyro rock solid and the tail servo plenty fast enough. I've only had it a few months so I can't comment on the longevity of the servo but so far I'm happy with the performance of both.
