  • Spartan gyro and fuel residue

If rear mounting the spartan gyro should I take precautions to protect the gyro from fuel residue from exhaust or is it sufficiently well sealed?

    Thanks

Never really had problems with mine when i had it rear mounted. It aint too close to the exhaust and even when inverted ive never really had to wipe of residue. One thing i will suggest though is lightly adding a small velcroe strap over the casing. There have been reports of them coming apart in flight.

Just to add what Lee said about putting a Velcro strap over the Gyro... I did this but tightend it down too much... Someone pointed this out to me and said it should be on tight enough so there is still some play in the strap or it can in some cases cause an adverse effect on the gyro's capability.

          lol

Yeh hes right though dont over do the strap as vibration can travel through it and effect the gyro.
