TAROT ZYX 3 axis help

I just completely had to rebuild my 450pro DFC after crashing last week and need help with the tarot setting up. I've had to change nearly everything on her, Servos, gears, head, shaft, tail boom etc and need to start from scratch to set her up. I'm a little confused with what the manual says " connect to receiver"?? Problem is I only use the tarot and a satellite and not a receiver, do I need to use one to set up or can I just plug servos and esc straight into the unit? That's how is was before and flew rock solid. I've looked for videos on setting up, but the only one on you tube is really confusing as the guy skips bits etc. if anyone has set one up from scratch, please can you go through it step by step for me or send me a link or video how to start. I really want to try and do this myself, rather than taking her to a shop to sort out. Where do I start?

If it is ZYX, not ZYX-S it can not be connected with satellites as far as it doesn't have s-bus support. If you want use ZYX you need to buy a receiver fot it.

Thanks for input, but I do run a satellite by its self with and it flys amazingly. It is the zyx, not the s, but just run the unit. I know it sounds strange, but there really isn't a receiver connected, that's what's confusing me lol

So you have used simple ZYX with satellite, right? Or you've used satellite before with other FBL unit?
Check this video, I've used it set up mine, but not sure if that man used satellite ...

Yeah, when I bought the 450 that's what was on. Had a little trouble binding to my dx6i, but did it and only use a satellite in place. Flys unbelievable, one handed even. This is what's causing me trouble, here to start lol. I don't use the software as I have Mac and it doesn't work, only windows based. It's the first FBL unit I've used and tried to set up. Literally had to strip her down to nothing.

Your satellite is the receiver. That's why it's called a satellite receiver. It just has no pins to plug servos into.

That's the video I watched, he really confused me lol. I know it's known as a satellite receiver, but thought that little bit was an antenna extension? I'll watch the vid again (slowly) and see if I can sus it lol

Could you take a pics of ur stuff? I mean satellite, cable between it and ZYX, and where're u going to connect it into ZYX.

I stand corrected, sorry I've got an "S" on my 450 and it's a normal ZYX on my 600. This is how it was set up.
AIL-ESC
RUD-SATELITE
CH3- elevator
CH2-aileron
CH 1- pitch
CH4 - tail servo.
Any help would be much appreciated

Well, so I was right. Connection looks ok, so have you set it up by ZYX PC software?

no mate, i havn't got the software as use mac and its windows based. Never had any trouble with the unit so never used the software. I've bound the satelite to it, but when i turn it on, just dont seem to get any response from it. all i get is the blue light come on after initializing. got the solid orange light on satelite, so that must be connected i guess?? if need be i can use another laptop with windows on.

Yes, seems you connected all right. But I've got red light on mine, blue one means your tail will operate in "normal" not "hold" mode. But I don't know your flying style, so I prefer "hold" mode I've read some manuals how to set up by TX but all of them were about normal receiver, not satellite BTW I recommend to try PC software (last one is 4.0) if you can.

i normally fly HH mode, just put into rate mode to set up. I'm on line now trying to sort software now. it's 4.2 now lol, but not using windows for 3 years is worse than setting up this dam tarot lol
