I very sorry Nick, I promise to fill out 3 composite RAMS and get sign off from senior management before I even get my Tx out of the bag in the future. Good thing was that I wasn't at SHH, I would never of heard the last of it, do you think they know?

To be honest I felt like taking my own head off as it was so stupid...... Best of it was, the grass was so long I couldn't find my heli for around 5 mins of stomping around. I am such a dick....

I did mine on the ground, everything connected up, ready to spool up.

full -ve in normal mode, flick to TH, then in TX adjust the TH throttle value so that it just starts to spool up. flick into normal (will stop spooling up), and then cut back 2% on TH setting. Job done

Not doing nothing until I have pulled the motor off the gears, oh and fitted the new skids. Then I wait 'till I feel like doin' it. Bit p*ss*d off right now, and just got a rollicking for being stupid, then got much worse with confirmation that it will cost £1700 to fix the Porsche front suspension..... Arrrggghhh

Front struts, springs and geometry setup + labour, and as you cannot change just one side both have to be done.

I would change that headspeed change from 8, to around 16-18. 8 is quite slow when bailout is activated. Just follow the video on youtube, look for castle autorotation calibration.

FWIW - I did my my setup on the bench yesterday with the pinion disengaged from the main gear. Using 10 didn't seem that fast compared to the soft-start so I would concur that something nearer 15 is a more likely value.

Thanks Tom, Once I get my bits that's what I will be doing as I have also ordered a 13t pinion. I will have to back off the motor to swop pinions and reset the governor set points as well. Just need to take a deep breath and mellow right now.

Right Guys, WTF am I doing wrong

Finally Royal Fail has delivered my pinion and skids......

All done on a new fully charged pack.

Installed my 13t Pinion (Stock was 11t) and set up IU to give me my new required head-speed, tacho'd the grips (no blades installed) and it was pretty well what I targetted. I did have to lift my "normal" RPM a bit as advised by the Castle S/ware for proper control.

1) The motor was hunting in normal mode at target RPM for around 15 secs then seemed to settle
2) IU it seemed to over-run the target RPM more significantly than before then settled back OK.
3) As advised I raised the "head-speed change" speed from 8 to 16 (max is 20 See earlier posts) and I have put my TH curve to 14% flat. I can now restart after flicking in/out of TH but it is like a normal spool up, very slow, no use in a real scenario. It is the same in Normal or IU. I even tried setting it to max 20 but didn't seem to make any change

I ran the test process as advised by Mattie and it does what it should except the Auto Bail-out is really, really slow.

You need to raise TH curve until it spools up,then back it off 2-3%.

Headspeed change rate works best at 18+.

I should imagine you need to have a load on the head(blades) for the gov to work proper

Thanks Nick. I understand now (I think). Should have read the post by Jimmyhorns properly, that is what he suggested as well. I'll back off the number from 20 down to 18 as well.

Fingers crossed, I'll get onto this when I get home this evening.
