I had myself convinced not to use a buffer pack... Now you have put the thought back into my head!

Yeah spotted that also - sorry for the confusion.Just going with supplied leads with all pins connected for me.

      Using a 220mAh buffer though.

Why convince yourself not to run one?

You dont HAVE to but SHOULD the BEC fail then you the backup that you have this onboard so have control of the servos still

After reading other forums and people talking about how good this Kosmik is, I thought it would keep things a small bit easier.
Now my next question is going to be:
Do I use a fully charged 2 cell lipo at 8.4 volts even though I've my Bec set to 8 volts? Will this back feed to the esc? Or should I only charge the lipo to 8 volts or less and let the Bec keep it topped up?

I look at a buffer pack in this way.
Its very very unlikely your bec will fail especially on a kontronic ,it's a bit like a parachute ! But if it does you will be so so glad you had something in reserve.

I am using a scorpion back up guard will only be called upon if the bec fails, it has it's own switch fited and you charge it as a separate unit ,a great piece of kit IMO.

If your BEC is set to 8v then you do want a lipo as a buffer pack as this way the lipo will sit at no higher than 8v so will not cause any problems to a 2s lipo as they can go to 8.4v

                Use this as a guide
                2-cell LiFePo battery
                (adjusted BEC voltage: 6,6V–7V)
                or a 2-cell LiPo battery
                (adjusted BEC voltage: 8V)
                or a 4-cell NiCd Akku
                (adjusted BEC voltage: 5,6V)
connected in parallel to the receiver.

I'm going to use one of these switched LiFe packs.

Well it's mentioned up to 7v for LiFe's but not sure yet if I could go slightly higher.
The Kosmik's been set at 7.4v at the moment after I upgraded the firmware in the week and tested the ProgDisc out.

As long as you run higher voltage than the buffer pack, all will be well

So 7.4v on the BEC will be OK then?

I may be wrong but I would say no. This would mean you are constantly charging the LIFe pack at 7.4 volts, which is too high. I run my servos at 8v and have a 2s lipo pack so this is constantly charged below it's maximum capacity. Look at Jamin's thread earlier this gives the correct pack to run at what voltage.

Getting some sketchy info but no more really than whats already out there, dont think I have worked for them for long enough to get the real nitty gritty info that I would want lol

Oliver Jellen, the guy who has this prototype was the guy who worked with Scorpion (before he was with Kontronik obviously ) designing and testing all the high power output motors on his TDR, is now the guy testing these motors from Kontronik as he is a team Kontronik pilot. From what Olli was telling me today because the 800 and 850 pyro do not fit his TDR and also many 700 sized heli's, this spawned the Pyro 750.
I believe there will be 3 or 4 versions of the Pyro 750 available, 450kv, 500kv, 560kv and possibly a 600kv. They will be due January time ISH and I specify the ISH part here

Pricing will not be released until nearer the time. I cant wait myself
