Motor Question

I have a second hand Pyro 700 52, it has a little bit (2mm) of up and down play. I have a new scorpion motor in my trex 500 and it does the same.
Wondered if it was ok to use or send it for a service.

It don't need servicing, At the top (or bottom depends what way you look at it) but where the shaft comes out there is a little locking collar. Line up the little hole in the case so you can get a small hex driver in there and loosen it, then push it all down and together then retighten with the tiniest amount of loctite. Them little screws strip easy!!

The pyro 700 is easy to service but getting shafts is a right pita, kontronik won't sell shafts for the motor. I sourced my own shaft and replaced bearings and shaft myself. Try re seating the sleeve as Ben said above. If it doesn't work I've got some blank shafts left if you need one.

Unfortunately the grub screw is shot. Might try and slowly drill it out and re tap the hole.
I will tape the motor so no swarf gets inside. I might take you up on that offer joe, thanks

Hi joe are the shafts long or short? Looking for the longer ones.

The shafts are very long, and blank all the way down so no flats at all.

Which bearings did you use joe?

Just stock bearings from bearing supplys.
