When parallel charging I would only use the numbers to check that the cell sets were not wildly different from each other, can't really get any more useful information that that unless charging a single pack.

From memory, the iChargers tend to be closer to the Wayne Giles reading than the Powerlab, but still different.

Always remember that temperature makes a considerable difference to the readings as well.

That is why you need to be more gentle with your packs in Winter and insulate them from the cold before you fly as the actual C rating of the pack will be considerably lower when cold.

I think you are correct with this the latest firmware is V1.10 and my pl6 has never worked in FMA mode

The PL6 and PL8 must operate differently then as my PL8 is on v3.31 and works on both modes (sort of lol)

Very interesting thread. It is putting me off the idea of buying a PL6 or a PL8. They seem a bit temperamental and esoteric.

As said its been the best, most complete charger i've ever had.. well worth the near £300 for charger + MPA board. Just like all things electrical they can do odd things now and again but generally the PL8 is a perfect charger

I'll still take my PL8 over anything else out there right now as it remains a very good and safe charger.

I wouldn't trust it to give me an accurate IR reading, but I have the Wayne Giles meter for that, but I would trust the PL8 to let me see how the pack IR changes over time.

Any questions or doubts just ask me at the weekend up at the field.
