  • Optipower Ultra's for testing.

Arrived this morning for testing in my TDR as a sponsored pilot of Optipower.

    Specs are as follows:
    Optipower Ultra 6s 5300 50c
    830g as weighed by me
    155mm x 53mm x 45mm

To give you a comparison I have taken a side by side pic with Optipower 6s 5000 30c but these specs may change on general release, that I do not know. I do not have any other brand lipos to take pics against.

These will be exclusively be used in my TDR for speed runs and the specs for that are:
    4535-550le motor
    Kosmik 200HV
8v supply from the Kosmik BEC to all servos.
Futaba BLS157HV's with BLS256HV on the tail.

Look forward to how they go and thanks to Andy and the guys and gal's @ Opti for considering me to have some of the pre production ones

So what's the difference Ben other than the size? just the C rating?

Mine have just arrived this morning for my Logo 600 3D I'll be out in the next hour or so to put the first cycle through them.

As Ben has shown in the pictures, they are a little larger and slightly more weighted. I guess the proof will be in the flying
            Cheers Matt

They also have heat dissipation plates in that radiate heat and also give a little better impact protection.

It will be interesting to hear the reasons why the C rating has now gone up, yet the whole selling point of the first generation packs was that we don't need a high C rating, and that no pilot can pull even near to 30C continuously!!

Can you post a pic of them next to a 6s 5000 opti as they are quite small compared to the Turnigy 25C 5000's & would give (at least give me) more size comparisom. I'd like Andy to give someone one to test in a 6s set up aswell because HV testing aint no good for me & report back with how it's performing after 100 cycles.

Certainly a strange one, I presume the answer will be advancing battery technology in the hobby..

                    I presume they are 10awg discharge leads, yet;

                    ..yet a 50c 5300 pack is 265amps.

Back on a positive note, I hope it is a step forward.

So nearer to the Turnigy now then which would be better for CofG in a Logo 500.

                          These are off a 40c 6s 5000 Turnigy

                          150 x 49 x 52mm and 836g

                          What ones do you have?
