Well I have just got back from the field and my 2700 6S Opti pack is showing signs of puffing. I can feel the outer heatshrink is a little soft after only 8 cycles.

Didnt touch the 2 leads together did you when putting the plug on that will make them puff a bit............

They might have as I have crocodile clips on my ESC and just bare wires on the packs. It is so much easier than using them EC5s. lol.

If you are worried about your pack just return it for inspection and test if there any problems with it we will replace FOC.

Well however much of a Turnigy fanboy i'm becoming you sure can't beat that kind of customer service & makes that bit extra over a budget brand worth paying. I can see me still having a bunch of turnigys to get more flights at the field but i will also be using Opti's aswell so i benefit from both.

Here is the result of the Align pack

Immediately apparent is this pack has all the cells starting at the same voltage and the fallback at the end was much less and resulted in the final phase taking about 10 minutes less. Both packs took the same time to get the cell voltages to 4.2 volts.

Let me turn your question round Andy. Why should I not be worried? The pack at this moment in time has cells discharging at a different rate albeit to within a few millivolts but I would expect it to perform the same as the Align pack. Both packs have had similar cycles of use and charge.

So what other brands of batts in different size models do you use Evo? I just realised that I know nothing of what you fly or anything apart from the 500 with 1 opti and 1 Align pack just being mosey as normally everyone on here knows everything about everyone


If we are posting graphs etc about Opti which is good as its transparent so everyone can see what and how they perform I think it might be a good idea to do it for many brands so everyone can talk all they like but the proof will be there for all to see.

I got a few graphs on my comp of a lot of batts from last year I could put up on a thread and I can also document my Opti's as they go on.

Well Mr Mosey I have a Logo 500 that I equip with Turnigy 5000 6S packs. I will get a graph of one of them but they are very good. The voltages of the cells are all the same and the IRs are around 2mOhms on all cells. I also have a T-Rex 450 Sport setup for 6S. I made up some 6S flightpower packs using two of their 1300 3S packs and I have Voltz 1300 6S packs. Again when I charge them I will get some graphs up. You best get that thread started.

Would it be better to attach pictures or the CP8 files?

Averaging 95 amps on a 12s 5000mah 700 setup would mean a 2.5 minute flight! That would be some insane setup!
