quick question , got my second BUG today tested them and works ok but here the differnce
BUG 1 - the external diode would light with kind of dim light , blinks when the main power is disconneded
BUG 2 - the external diode don't light at all but blinks when the main power is disconneded
have now tested with four different helis , can anybody using YGE confirm that there diode also stays on
- heli with YGE 120LV ( not mikado version ) = the LED on
- heli with WR BEC = LED off
- heli with CC BEC pro = LED off
- heli with YEP100 (clone ) = LED off
Could you confirm the output voltage you were using with each of the systems you were testing?
- heli with YGE 120LV ( not mikado version ) = the LED on = 7,5v - heli with WR BEC = LED off =6v - heli with CC BEC pro = LED off = 6v - heli with YEP100 (clone ) = LED off = 5,5v
Thanks Mark_T , did a test with the Hercules BEC and set to 7,5v and the LED will glow , at 6v the LED stays off
the question : is this ok or will it cause issues with my esc runninig at 7,5v
Just been playing with mine today, works flawlessly. And I discovered just how bright that LED is! I can still see the floaters lol. Am I right in just plugging in the main Lipos, waiting for the green LED to turn solid, then when I shutdown just holding down the button before disconnecting the main packs?
I realise the manual states to power down first then turn off the ultraguard, but I really don't want that LED in my face every time haha. Great little device, one that I hope I never need...
I have one more suggestion for v2... Would it be possible to move the status red/green LED to the edge of the PCB? With it in its current location, it's hard to see when a velco strap is used to secure it.

I doubt we can move the little LED's on the board as this would need a board redesign which is very costly. The main power needs to be turned off first then press button on board for 1 to 2 seconds and LEDS will stop flashing and it will shut down awaiting the next power up of your model.

Mine is working great too
Harry, I have my LEDs stuck to the underside of the base plate facing down so they don't blind me lol!
I also have a Velcro strap which covers the LED but as it's also stuck on with gyro tape I just undo the strap when powering up and down.

After all this talk of LED being soldered onto the board etc I was rather surprised when I got around to opening my opti-guards to find they have a plug fitted (plugs into the small socket just bottom/right of the optipower logo).
am I missing something? I take it not all of them are like this?
edit, just checked my second one and it's the same
