Sorry, I should say it is right on the edge for parallel charging 2 packs.

If you just want to do them one at a time it should be fine.

Cheap PSUs do have a habit of failing though so keep that in mind as this isn't something where 'cheap' is the main aim, or at least it shouldn't be

thanks for the info, the PSU claimed 32a but as a buget buy would expect would only perform 22amp

I feel it would be better suited to 106b intime upgrade the Psu with more accurate power and more amps to the charger, As it stands if it took an hour im stil charging twice the rate I am now with a 50w charger lol.

as im going to run no more than 4 lipos I feel I would be best to charge each 6s individually but still faster than I am now.

Ive been to look at a case today measured up and with the 106b and psu its a nice fits really really nice with 4 optipowers.

As long as you stick to charging one pack at a time you'll be able to go faster than one per hour if you want to go above 1C, but the choice is yours of course.

Phil I really do think you will be sorry in the future if you limit yourself, even if you invest abut more on the charger side & get a PL6 you won't be sorry

when you mean future proof if you mean needing 8s 12s buy getting larger Heli, this wont be happening, the 550e is the largest heli I will own, if I ever upgrade I will not buy anything requiring 2 lipos.

I think I will be satisfied with being able to slash my charge times even if it is one lipo at a time, and if it means upgrading the PSU to get more from the system then I will do that later on.

....I'm sure we all said that at one point, then was introduced to 90 size

IMO, you may as well have just stuck with your old charger. After all this time and expense you really aren't gaining a lot.

how could I not gain alot? the 50w charger would take upto and over 2 hours to charge a single 5000mah 6s. If I get the charge times down to half hour per lipo im onto a winner.

Purely I want the convenience of all my lipo gear in one box, neat and simple with more power. for now I will get the 106b as will only be doing single lipo charges, if all works well, I will throw a powerful PSU at it.

Just a little project for myself. so far the case has cost me £35, the PSU £24 new charger will be around £80 and I will be buying 4x 4300mah 6s optipowers at somepoint.

I thought you need 5000 battery's to get the cog on the 550e. If I were a beginner I would not have patience to wait around for 1 battery at a time to charge up to get a 6 min flight? No sod that not even now would I wait arround .

still debating the 4300mah 5000mah lipos.

Ive ordered a new charger now, im debating the PC psu and just get a DC dedicated psu

I know I am going to regret this but I just cannot help myself.....what charger did you buy? I thought the general advice was to go for server psu not computer psu?

the icharger 106b+ purely because im happy to charge lipos one by one, just not happy to wait over 2hours per lipo.

I have a 650w Psu which after a bench test puts out 22A not the 32A, still reasonable and ****es over a 50w charger.

Plus ive planned the layout in my case.

Im going to scrap the budget 650w with 22amp bench test, and get a high performance 800w psu with 65a on the rails
