    >> Your charger will be more efficient if you match the input voltage to the pack voltage
I doubt that. For example for the iChargers, the power handling capability increases directly with the supply voltage.

I could of used a different word instead of efficient but taking the iCharger 208b specifically the manual shows that the power handling of the charger increases as the voltage increases. At 11 volts the maximum charge power is 238watts and the spec sheet states the full 350 watts is not available unless the input voltage is 18 volts. Similarly the spec sheet for the CellPro 10S states that full power is not available unless the input voltage is 15.7volts.

I used the term efficient to mean the internal power supply can supply more power with a higher input voltage.

This is why I have recommended getting a psu that has a higher voltage output than the 15 volts maximum posted by the others.

If you have some basic soldering skills and a 60-80w iron then you could try building one of these:

It's a 24v 55A supply that will power at least 2 chargers and gives 1.7kw. I use it to power a Logic RC Emperor at 24v and my iCharger at 18v:

The best thing is that it only took around 2 hours to make and the total cost is around £45!! The 2x PSUs (which are Hewlett Packard/Compag Server PSUs) are around £15 each on ebay. On top of that you just need some decent wire, connectors and something to wrap the PSAs in (I used Correx)If you guys want any more info then I'll write up the full details but a google search for 24v 1kw+ Power Supply from Server PSUs should give some info for starters!

yes, that's how I understand it. The higher the better
