  • thought so far........

so now ive been flying it for afew days, got around gallon and alf thru it now, cgy750 is dialed in nicely now, maybe need to drop the ali gain a tad, but anyways....

the model, well, its built like a light weight tank, 17mm heical main gear, 15mm main shaft, 25mm boom, 2mm carbon frames, doesnt look like its gonna wear out in a rush lol

back to this light weight bit....... my model, as it is, with a full tank and head tank, weighs in at 11lb.15ounces, but, my rx pack is a opti3650mah which is to heavy, so i got weight on the tail fin for CofG, 90grammes differnce in the next pack down, plus say 10grammes on the tail, knock 100 grammes off it.... which is 0.220ounces, plus, the g4 has a 650cc fuel tank, the trex700 has a 600cc tank..... brings it down to 10lbs8 ounces, that with 50cc more fuel!!!!!!!

flight times, it flys for ever!!! i got 10mins out of it, still had about 20mm of fuel left in the huge tank!!! and of course, more u fly, its gets even lighter lol the engine doesnt even get warm

the tail on the g4 is very very impressive, and finally!! finally!! a model with the magic right tail off set with everything set at 90 the tail has some monsterous power to it, stops on a dime every time, left and right stops, see what happens when a company gives u a rate mode.......... constant piroettes!!!! none of this off setting bell cranks to get equal throws and a rate model, its just there, built in!!

the servo wheel, what a genius idea that was, a nice ali collect screws on the servo, then a ali servo horn thats supplied slide over it and is fixed with a grub screw and pinched up, took me 10mns to set up the servo, u can lock all the cranks up, make sure links are the same length, set servo to centre and do up the grub screw, pinch up the pinch bolt, job done no subtrim required!!! was so easy ill be using this one other hels if i can get away with it

overall im very very impressed with the model, flys great, looks great, stupidly fast, and stupidly light win win in my book!!!!

    hope u enjoy the reading!!!

    THANK YOU MODEL HELI SERVICES!!!!!!!

    laters!!!!

Oh come on give us the weight in kgs, were metric in th UK doncha know :P

Agree about having pitch built into the tail with everything at 90 though. My Compass Atom is the same and I find myself asking why more manufacturers dont take the same approach.

Some pictures would be nice also

I'm not sure I'd say it's a "tank", Chris. I was there when Pete maidened it, and I was as sceptical as anyone else when you see "an old Raptor", but seriously, this is a game changer. If I were in the market for a nitro again, I'd be seriously considering one of these - it's a serious bit of kit!

As for the weight of your 700 Chris, is that fully fuelled, with rx lipo etc? Sounds way too light to me!

Sadly there are not as many left wanting nitro's now as we all know the fashion has gone electric but I watched Pete flying in the video and it looked very nice.

Has to be said Pete's flying has come on shed loads too which make it look good but as you say Jamie... "IF" and it's a big if I were in for another Nitro I too would be looking at this.

Sorry I can't quite agree with the nitro Is dead thing either, as some of us want more thrills than six minuites for a 2k outlay can provide ! Maybe it's a girl thing but size isn't everything lol.

I hate the mess of nitro but equally puffy packs , expensive chargers , and waiting for packs to charge doesn't float my boat either , I guess what I want is an clean nitro , with dry fuel and ten minuites duration that costs tuppence. Lol

As for the G4 I saw one at midland an was very impressed , looks nice and very well built, I tried to get a friend to buy one but sadly he followed the flock.

                  No imagination some folk .

No one mentioned the word "Dead" Rachel, I said the fashion is going electric which it is, There will always be nitro for the ones who choose it, Have a word with Andy Lever about the rate that Lipo's are selling against the Nitro fuel over the last 6 month.

Here is mine having its maiden flight, with a OS 90 HZ in it and beast x, it now has a YS120 and V Bar, which I have had trouble with and had too send back, hopefully I will get it back in the air soon, seriously thinking of going electric with it.......
