          Alright Nigel,
Didn't realise you'd registered as an addict!

I've seen Nigel's canopy in the flesh and it's very nice!

I've had a look around the usual suppliers but they all seem to be awaiting stock. Anyone know where I can get a Thunder Tiger Raptor E550S ARF

The new model has a supplied 11T pinion which makes the head speed too fast for this heli!
I have changed to a 9T pinion which makes it a nice docile flyer at around 1700 RPM in normal & 1900 RPM in idle up 2. The down side to the older model though is trying to find lipos to fit!.

                  I use these....
Turnigy 5000mAh 6S 25C Long Lipo Pack (UK Warehouse)
25C but powerful enough and getting a comfortable 7 min flight time with plenty of power left in reserve.

I tried the standard size 5000 mah 40c, they fit in but don't slide back far enough for C of G as the wires catch on the lower frame!

I did a bit of a thread on rear loading batteries here, I found spacing the frames 1-2mm with washers makes a big difference with the cheapo batteries, turnigys squeeze in, but the 5000 optipower ones are much slimmer and fit really easy
Just a trusty rusty Raptor E550 these days
