  • Raptor 30 Throttle curves

Im after some advice, when I got my Raptor 30 the guy that had been flying it was very much a beginer and he said it scared the living dailights out of him, now Ive tried this chopper I can see why.

Basically the way he has it set up is it revs its nuts off before there is any glimmer of lift which is obviously wrong, Ive changed it a little using the 5 point curve on the throttle in my FF9 and it hovers a little better, what I was wondering is how people have set theirs up, for instance what throttle percentage on each point and how the pitch is set, at the moment this is set in a linear movment (more or less) from -8 up to +9 I think(this is from memory).

I can fly heli's but it has been a long time and things have changed alot, when I was flying them last the mix between throttle and pitch was all done mechanically in the links doing this in the transmitter is all new to me.

    thanks for any info
    All the best
    Tony.

Safest way is to get someone who's a bit more up-todate to take you through it. Where abouts in Essex are you? I'm in Suffolk.

Dont worry I was gonna let the guys at the local club ive just rejoined set it up for me I just wanted to get a good Idea prior to them trimming it so that there would be a good platform for them to start with.

as I said its hovering fairly well but as for full flight that im waiting till someone a little more up to date than me has taken a look
      All the best

I would always ask very nicely, and make them tea/coffee while they do me the favour

why not get a govenor that will sort the problem in an instant .im not saying throttle curves are no good i used one for three years before changing but have to say thay are simple and easy to set up.and not too expensive .
well worth the money..it will also save the engine from over running ,in turn prolongs you engine..constant head speed will also inprove you tail holding..

even with a gov you still need to get the curves reasonably close so that if it fails you have something that flies.
