At last I got some air...

Well its taken since the 3D masters to actually get my Synergy into the air, with holidays, work, being full of cold and finally a vibration issue.

Stripped the head down twice, put more washers into the head to tighten up the dampening, took the engine out and replaced the collet with the updated version and re-dialled the head. I was running SAB 710 3D blades that were on my Vibe and flew perfectly fine on the Vibe until I put a set of Radix blades on the Vibe for a change.

Got to the field and again the vibration was still there. So as the last resort I swapped the blades over.

Yippee - No vibration - Still stumped on the SAB Blades as they fly fine on the Vibe and have been weighed at work to be identical. Haven't balanced the two blades but given they worked fine on the Vibe I'm not sure why they caused such an issue on the Synergy.

Anyway's, with I could only put three tanks through the Synergy as I had a family kids party to got to (How exciting !! - wouldn't be so bad if the little maddam behaved, but she's a spoilt bratt - Family!!).

Running on 30% Magnum the engine was running sweet, a little trimming with crosswind and she was hovering nicely. Didn't do much as the clock had run out so quick so I did some high auto's to finish off the flights and it hangs well at the bottom.

Looking forward to the next flight for sure.

Stuart I got SAB blades for the Synergy, are you saying there may be a problem with that set-up.

its an excellent machine. Bob let me fly his and its a truely amazing model. So crisp, so fast, so accurate.

the synergy in phoenix is very close accept the pitch and cyclic response is even crisper on the real one!

I suspect if I balance the SAB's I'll find them out of balance. Its the first time ever I've come across an issue of vibration being the result of blades and I've tried a good few. I've always gone back to SAB's as they give in my mind a more crisp and greater auto performance.

I decided to give the Radix Blades a go just to really finish off the look of the Vibe and they perform great for me.

I wouldn't worry about it Mack, I suspect the Vibe's head is just more forgiving. Just keep on building, flew a bit with Phil today.....

My next dilemma is more to do with our club being potentially without a site to fly due to its sale. I want to get to the meeting tomorrow night, but I'm at work from 6.00AM and we have a local fireworks display tomorrow night that the misses has told the kids we are going to watch.... so I'll be pushing zzzz very soon after getting back in.

It was a shame you had to leave early as the rest of the afternoon was perfect for this time of year.
