just finished mine after 13 straight hours.
few things to note-
1. i had a few bolts missing, had to make bolts for the blade grip arms was just one of the things.
2. my swash is buggered, one of the long balls has snapped off inside the thread. luckily i have another kit here for a friend who is away for a week so i robbed his swash. climbout will be getting a call on tuesday morning about that. ade if your reading i need a new swash dude.
3. the paddles and tail blades are poor, my advice is change them out. i suspect most will anyway.
4. the UC is too narrow imo and i'll be changing it pronto.
5. the boom support ends have holes but no bolts supplied to go in them. i suspect this is an N9 part but could be with the kit as only 4 bolts. in mean time i doubt they will break going on the size of them. they are very large for a 50 size and i've had smaller on a 90!.
6. the headblock/metal blade grip arm binds just as it goes over the top. you WON'T have this in flight but given this is all CNC'd this is poor imo and shouldn't be like that.
7. some of the parts come threadlocked which is a total PITA. it's not very good threadlock. it is more like epoxy to get off than the quick snap you get with threadlock. i would rather they were all done or none. none the less i would always strip it and rebuild anyway as always.
8. the manual shows servo plates on the thro servo yet there is none that size in the kit. i just used washers on it.
9. there is minimal room for batteries on this. consider carefully guys what gear your going to use on this.
10. as said before the tail rod fouls the os 55 carb. i believe the fix is to put the ball up the top and run the rod slightly upwards. i did try this but i then fouled the fan shroud so i just rotated the carb slightly mean time till i can figure something out
imo it's no better to build than the 600 but the quality is better. you could be forgiven for thinking this is a 90 going on how beefy it is.
unlike jamie i hate the canopy even more now i have it infront of me- to each their own there.
TBH this is a great heli for a first batcher. probably the least amount of problems i've had in my heli time. with the amount of first batch helis i've owned thats saying something. if it wasn't for the swash issue it would have been nearly perfect. a bolt here/there i can live with.
cheers
