just finished mine after 13 straight hours.

    few things to note-

    1. i had a few bolts missing, had to make bolts for the blade grip arms was just one of the things.

    2. my swash is buggered, one of the long balls has snapped off inside the thread. luckily i have another kit here for a friend who is away for a week so i robbed his swash. climbout will be getting a call on tuesday morning about that. ade if your reading i need a new swash dude.

    3. the paddles and tail blades are poor, my advice is change them out. i suspect most will anyway.

    4. the UC is too narrow imo and i'll be changing it pronto.

    5. the boom support ends have holes but no bolts supplied to go in them. i suspect this is an N9 part but could be with the kit as only 4 bolts. in mean time i doubt they will break going on the size of them. they are very large for a 50 size and i've had smaller on a 90!.

    6. the headblock/metal blade grip arm binds just as it goes over the top. you WON'T have this in flight but given this is all CNC'd this is poor imo and shouldn't be like that.

    7. some of the parts come threadlocked which is a total PITA. it's not very good threadlock. it is more like epoxy to get off than the quick snap you get with threadlock. i would rather they were all done or none. none the less i would always strip it and rebuild anyway as always.

    8. the manual shows servo plates on the thro servo yet there is none that size in the kit. i just used washers on it.

    9. there is minimal room for batteries on this. consider carefully guys what gear your going to use on this.

    10. as said before the tail rod fouls the os 55 carb. i believe the fix is to put the ball up the top and run the rod slightly upwards. i did try this but i then fouled the fan shroud so i just rotated the carb slightly mean time till i can figure something out

imo it's no better to build than the 600 but the quality is better. you could be forgiven for thinking this is a 90 going on how beefy it is.

unlike jamie i hate the canopy even more now i have it infront of me- to each their own there.

TBH this is a great heli for a first batcher. probably the least amount of problems i've had in my heli time. with the amount of first batch helis i've owned thats saying something. if it wasn't for the swash issue it would have been nearly perfect. a bolt here/there i can live with.

    cheers

      Paul,

With everything sounds like you like it..

Think the idea is not to thread lock anything in the future.. just assemble finger tight, via the factory.

They knew you was going to get that kit so they left some bits out...

Are the bolts missing off the other kit for the grips?

UC was sized to keep the CG as close to axis as possible but any 50 UC should fit.. So personal preference is just cool.

As far as the battery tray, gone has the days of large battery backs to counter the tail weight, seems a 1800 battery is all is needed.. and the way things are going, it will be one battery, a box that holds everything and a few leads to the servos in the not too distance future.

      Canopy:
I do like the shape and the colours OK, finish Quality is as good as the rest of the model, just brilliant

LOL, think until its in your colours, it wont be cool for you ..Hee Hee

      Swash:

After the swash in the USA, did you heat each point as you removed?

not finger pointing, just checking if there is a best way to remove..

Compared the 1st N9 release it better in every way posible, Great kit and simple design to build.

            Nice one Jamie..

Kid with a new toy I bet!

Paul in the notes on the manual, said

            Attention!
If you are using an OS55HZ motor
screw the 107-106 Pivot Ball into the
top of the Tail Offset Bell Crank. This
will allow the Tail Linkage Rod to clear
            the mid-range carb needle.
            Have you?

            ......

Ian, Yes I'll see you at Boxhill or Redhill, defo getting back in the game with this model.. I can see it being great as a beater but 1 main reason is the fact on the face of it, its a break it and mend, not spend hours on the bench setting back up.. think things are looking good...

Might be a bit of 3d tail hovering as its been so long lol...

Rob I did indeed but it fouled the fan shroud. I will fix that today.

The Swash I heated up the balls yes but it looks like metal is defective on the ball.

I'm at the field now and just flown it. Tweaking it right now!

              Cheers

Just got back from the field Maiden went well, need to tune the engine a lot more before I can engage the governor, play with the tail gain, and then get at home with the cyclics. Initial impressions are that the cyclics are very fast, even on the white align paddles which on the 600 were slow, pitch is nice and crisp, auto's are fine, nothing noticably bad due to the extra drag of the belt, and the engine is waaaay to rich right now. This is one very very smooth machine in the air though. Only managed 3 tanks as I was late getting up there, but have a full day planned tomorrow, so more to come

For now, here's a few shots from the field

The rich engine could upset the gyro a bit jamie so might be worth getting the engine fully tunned before messing with the tail

How are the Align paddles? Need to get some paddles ordered and not sure what to go for. Not a great fan of Stubz

Bizarrely very fast on this machine. On the 600NSP I had them fitted to previously, they were slow. I need more stick time, but i think i might even reduce the cyclic throws a little!

Ive only got a set of stubz here, charlie had my white aligns lol so ive gone for the centre hole on the seesaw abd git the weights 65mm out from the cage, hopefully it will level out the cyclics
