Aside from the engine tuning issues it looked pretty awesome today in the hands of the "A" team

Nice looking build too and quality components. Looks big for a 50 as did the MA Furion 55 that was also impressive looking at Charmouth

        Guys.

Got to say I flew the N5 numerous times this weekend and I am sooooooo relieved it's not a heavy model to fly.

It's great to finally fly a 50 heli that flies so planted and track so well under load in big stuff, yet I would happily fly stuff low down too.

It looks as though it will be very nice to work on. I particularly liked the layout of the servos which will make setting up the CCPM really easy from what I can see. The whole design looks really well thought through with a good engine mount setup and rigid frame design.

I had no idea Ade was bringing the N5 to Charmouth but i'm glad he did because I know what 50 sized heli I want to fly from now on.

How does it compare to the Knight 3d?

I think we can all agree thats an awesome flying 50 and you spent a massive amount of time on one of those and were very comfortable with it.

I would be interested to hear the comparison to a K3D as well, from the vid (well done Ash) it looks great - just not sure I could go back to a 50 after the 90

I can only transport one heli in my car (except electrics) so it would have to be a compelling argument to move me to downsize to a 50 again... I still have the K3D hanging in the workshop, just missing electrics to put it back in the air..
                Regards,

The main difference to me is accuracy and quality of build. The Knight 3D was a much better flying heli than the Align 600 Nitro as far as I'm concerned, but things have moved on of course.

There were a number of people who flew it this weekend, including Ash, Rob Turnbull, Danny Lock, JamieM who were all impressed (I think?)

But to be honest Chris you need to have a look at one yourself and get a fly on one ideally. I'd be really surprised if you didn't like it.

Great video, especially considering that wind by the sounds of it

50s are in my opinion going through a step change these last few months. Velocity 50 as example, which was one of the first new ones flies beautifully, so accurate and easy to fly. The new one's coming through like the Fury 55 and now the N5 are following suit.... they feel different, planted and accurate and crucially easier to feel comfortable with, so you can go from sim to heli quicker with your new moves.

The Outrage is from a similar stable to Align, so you have the pricing and spares at a bargain price. The Fury and Synergy are a little more expesnive but when you look at them you can see where the money is being spent. The N5 particularly.... 'beefy' is the word, where as the Fury 55 is just very nicely machined, proper quality parts.
I will say this about the Fury 55, I was astounded at how light it was.

Look at support, spares prices and which one you like the look of and then pay your money and take your choice.

I still cant quite believe the amount of photos and video there is of this thing without the canopy on. What's the problem ??

We all know the mechanics are very well designed and built.

I would love to see a canopy too. Ade from Climbout did say that the canopy done now and should look similar, but not exactly the same as the N9.

The good news is it will come painted

I'll write a more detailed write-up tomorrow when I'm home (still at newlands now), but suffice to say it is every bit as good as it looks in stills and in matt botos' videos. Despite a slightly ill engine, it flew really really well, super accurate and smooth, and the pitch response is unreal. I had 3 flights on it and loved every minute, can't wait to get mine now!
