  • I have noticed the the New Titan takes the 620 blades which is what Matt has designed the N5 to take as well...

So the new 50 machines looks like the 620 blade will become the norm maybe ?

I think this is more a forward thinking move in that the newer generation motors 55-57 will pack more punch. My tired old hyper 50's would hate 620's

          • So I wonder how a T.T Redline would cope with the 620 blades ?

It would cope fine if the carb didn't stick! Tbh there isn't much in it. They just produce power in slightly different ways. Nothing earth shattering.

              • My TT53 just seems to get better and better now, don't seem to have the same probs as you Pete so it might be an option to use that in a N5.
But i agree, no more powerfull than a hyper and i have one of them spare also.
I will be more keen to see the OS55 and how successfull they are as it will produce more torque and cope better with the 620 blades i expect.
This will be the first of what could mould the future of the 50 size market, be interesting to see how the other manufacturers respond, the trex 600 is due for an update i expect over the next year.

                • We have seen the drastic price increase on Vibe spares in the states. At least not yet. If the spares are in line with the Vibe prices in the States I'll be all over this. I loved my N9 but in the end it was too expensive to keep in the air. I'm really hoping the N5 spares are more realistic. Please no more $50 main gears.

N5 really doesn't want to be hitting the Shops in the current climate it'll just push its price to high.. Vibe 50's price is bad enough and the Vibe 90SG rumors reckon it'll be 1599 to 1999 pounds and thats just silly prices.

                    • Personally I can't see it being at the Vibe end when you consider the Vibe 90 and Synergy N9 are way apart I would suspect Synergy will want to keep a similar gap in the .50 end, but baring in mind that the heli is geared also towards the next generation of .55 class.

                      • Price wise i think it will be closer to the Vibe 50 end of the market rather than the Trex 600, reckon the weak £ against the $ will impact on where it sits uk the uk market at the moment.

Right now without a canopy and 1/2 tank I am slightly tail heavy. With a canopy it will balance perfectly. All of the weight and balance calculations were done in the design phase within my CAD software so there was no reason the model would not CG correctly. However, keep in mind these calculations were done base on the weight of the individual components which I selected.

Mechanical throw ratio from servo to rotor head is 2:1, I bet you are looking at a flybarless N5...

                                Sincerely,

                                Matt
Thanks for your response. Sorry but I'm going to pick your brain some more. I have a set of BLS451 set aside. Do you think they'd have enough torque both for the stock flybarred and / or flybarless configuration? Furthermore, I will be running either an Outrage 3600 (160g) or 2500 (110g) RX pack. If either are two long, will using them at an angle (where you have your RX & ATG) still have good CG?

                                Thanks again,
