  • Synergy E7 Release

    E7_ad1.jpg
The long awaited Synergy E7 is finally here! Kits are rolling through customs right now and will be in transit to your local hobby shop next week! The Synergy E7 is an ultra light, ultra rigid, 700 class helicopter which was designed with high efficiency and long flight times in mind. That’s right, low weight means longer flight times! With ultra low weight, your disk loading is low which means your motor works less, your servos work less, and your entire helicopter is happy!

The 116T Machined Helical Main gear is whisper quiet and efficiently transfers power from the motor to the rotor disk. This machined main gear has been thoroughly tested to withstand the extreme power of today’s electric systems. The pinion to main gear mesh is fully adjustable with four different gear ratios to choose from. Pinions included in the kit are 14 and 15 tooth pinions. Optional pinions are 12 and 13T. Here at Synergy we believe in letting modelers be modelers, you can configure the E7 how you want to, not how a pro pilot, a designer, or an owner of the company thinks it should be done. You are in complete control. Use this power wisely!
That’s not all! When you purchase the E7, you also get everything you need to configure this model as a 600 class model. This includes, extra belt, boom, tail push rod, boom supports, as well as blade bolts and blade bolt adapters! That’s right! You get to choose your own adventure and build what you like! When configured as a 10S E6, your total flying weight will still be right along side all of the other 600 class electrics on the market today.

I hope you enjoy the Synergy E7 (or E6 if you may)

    Your friendly Heli Designer,
    Matt Botos

Looks mint - I would be more keen on the E6 anything more than a 10s to me is just too expensive to run battery wise. I hope the pricing is pitched more towards the 50 Size Heli pricing.
      Cheers

It's an awesome piece of kit Stu, the kit does come with parts to build in an E6 or E7 Configuration. I currently have mine in an E6 configuration running a Hacker Turnado A50-10L 580 Kv motor.
        Thanks!

I have to say the pricing is up there with other 700 size based on the $775 but that will be without duty etc I would have thought.

But its an awesome bit of kit and I would prefer to actually have it as a 700

Ross, will you be at Charmouth with it? I know a lot of people were hoping to have a good look over it at the champs, but for whatever reason you didn't make it in the end. Come on man, updates! You have the only one in the country right now

                Hey Jamie,

Unfortunately with Charmouth i have to play it by ear due to work commitments, I was gutted i could'nt make it down to the Champs as it looks and sounds like i missed another awesome event!!

But, hopefully! with us being treated to last bout of summer before the snow arrives i'm going to try and get some decent flights on the E6 and get it dailed in an report back!
                Thanks!

After the last few weeks of very poor weather here in the UK and a busy work schedule I finally managed to get out to the field and get some decent flights on the E6. I had spent some time with the E6 on the bench going through the setup of the Futaba CGY750 and also the Castle Creations ICE2 HV120 setting up the governor mode and bail out feature but I was still a little apprehensive and a little nervous about the first flight which is the first time in a long while that I have shaken more than the proverbial s###ing Dog!! ….. But!.... the E6 spooled up and lifted off into a perfect hover and running at a governed head speed of 2000rpm she sat in the hover silky smooth, the gear train on this machine is amazingly quiet and coupled with the Rail blades it makes for very responsive yet smooth and powerful machine.

Once I managed to take a breath I decided to see just how much power the E6 had on tap so I flicked the switch into Idle2 and the ESC ramped up the head speed to 2250rpm and the E6 came alive!! I did a few climb outs and slow aileron/elevator tick tocks to gauge the feel and responsiveness of the CGY750 as I had initially set it to flight mode 4 which I found to be quite responsive yet still feeling very natural coming from a fly-barred machine but I’m going to try flight mode 5 to test how the flight modes feel. I have to say coming from a fly-barred machine and having only a little experience with flybarless I felt right at home with the CGY750, it really is a simple system to setup and although I made the switch from Spektrum/JR on this occasion as I wanted to try this system, I found the 8FG Super and CGY750 an excellent combination.

The power system I selected for my E6 was the Hacker Turnado A50-10L 580Kv motor with the new Castle Creations ICE2 HV120 ESC running a 15T pinion. The ESC was a breeze to setup using the Castle Link software and the performance was exceptional with both the motor and ESC warm after the 4minute test flights. The power packs I selected were Optipower 4300mah 5S linked in series to give 10S and they performed exceptionally well, being only slightly warm to the touch after the short 4min break-in flights. I am looking forward to seeing how these packs perform after a few more flights and I’m expecting to get flight times of around 5½ to 6 minutes with a safe reserve left in the packs.

I have to say I definitely feel spoiled by the sheer power of the E6 but I definitely feel at home with it and after a few tweaks to the CGY750 I’m looking forward to getting even more flights on it.

Once I have had a few more flights I will post up my CGY750 settings after a few adjustments and if anybody would like the configuration files for the Castle Creations ESC for running Hacker 580kv/470kv motors I will gladly send these if anybody would like them.

Depends!! ...... Will you be bringing 'La Cheque Book' ??

Unfortunately with the Autumn Charmouth i have to play things by ear as work is getting very hectic and that has to take priority over play time but i will see how things go.
                        Thanks!

                          Great looking heli!
Got a couple of questions, if you don't mind.
Where is CGY750 sensor mounted, under the gyro tray?
                          What servos are you using?
I am going to build mine as E7, will 2x6s 4300mAh lipos work?
                          Michal

Do like the look of the E7.

Is there a parts price list about?
