      What issue number?

I've switched from Model Heli World to Rotor World for a change and can't see the review in the copies I have. Would be good to know as I'll get a back issue for a read.

      Cheers

P.S. Why is the RJX looking for a new home?

        Update on Gear Strip.

Spoke with Ross Mods who put me in touch with Richard Budd (what a pleasure to talk to - Thanks Richard)

My only concern is that no one really seems to know what's caused the problem and it's built to the letter. Ross Mods are however to provide Richard Budd a Novarossi 57 to do some testing with so I await the verdict.

Bob at Ross Mods suggested that vibration could be the cause of the stripped gear but the tank was like a mill pond in the hover.

Anyhow, will be purchasing required spares in the morning and give it another go.

I have had massive problems with vibration on my X 50. I have changed/balanced every rotating part. Checked gear mesh, changed evry bearing....... i am so utterly fed up that i can honestly say its beginning to put me off flying. I'm not a novice and have always maanged to find the solution to such problems. I have tried both straight and helical cut gears, sourced bearings from a bearing manufacturer.... I am an engineer by profession and i am rapidly losing the will to continue with this heli. I should point out that i have two x50's and both vibrate like a washing machine. I am about to draw the conclusion that the problem is inherent with the design of the machine and that it is fatally flawed. I have suffered a near disaster caused by servo leads being eaten away due to vibration.
The one and only solution that i can possibly think of, is to replace the bearing directly above the main gear for a proper tapered thrust bearing. this may help dissipate the 'lift' forces that the normal bearing is subjected to. If that doesnt work i'm stripping both helis, buying a Trexx 600 and smashing the X50's to pieces so i no longer hav eto mess with them. Sorry guys, all show and no go these things. Final chance this weekend.
I have two tools in my tool box. A hammer...... and a condom. If that doesn't work then it's TJFGOP.... The Jobs Fd Going On The P:::::::

One of my mates has just got an X90 and he's had problems with vibrations. It's better now but still not as steady as the 700's in our club.

Funny how he wanted to take his B test on the RJX 90 and not on the 700 then!

I love my RJX Extreme 50 - very well balanced with no vibration. I must be lucky, I did have some on the Hurrican Pro but a little richening sorted it out. Built by a pro! ;>

                      Great forum

That's because he thought it might be more favourable to the examiner if he used his RJX!!!

Only a complete nutter would beleive that would make any difference to me as an examiner and was actually a source of mickey taking prior to the test practice

Would I imply that the equipment that a pilot uses has any influence on the examiner?

Me, with a Futaba tranny and an Align heli stands no chance of getting my "B"!!!
