You need to check in the softwear window that when your throttle is at low stick it is in decay mode then when the stick is moved above 40% it goes into trim lock. You need to make sure the option to turn on and off is set to throttle and the swash tilt you see on the bench is normallOriginally posted by rachel View Post
a couple of thoughts the total g has a feature to stop tip overs on spool up & down where buy the gyros dont work below 1/2 stick is there any way I could have had this reversed ????!!!!
, it should take off and land fine and when the new firmware is out it will be 1 hell of a unit to beat

Rachel,
My TotalG equipped FB ENV went in today and I think my cause was a brown out.
I was flying around not doing anything interesting, first flight of the day so I always take it steady, then few pitch pumps to load the engine up as I was going to start tuning the engine, all of a sudden the heli starts to piro, so I hit throttle hold which stops the piro, the heli settles down into a descending hover only to then tip violently right and go in from about 10 foot. All I did stick wise was to reduce pitch to auto down steadily so no cyclic input, or at least not enough to knife edge like it did! Usual damage of FB, boom, shafts, pushrods, blades and canopy, cost so far over £200 and I cannot get the flybar so it won't be flying any time soon
The reason I suspect a brown out is that the heli tipping to the right is just like on initialisation when the TotalG tips the swash to the right, the piro would be the tail gyro losing tail authority, which could be similar to what you saw at least with the tipping right. Unfortunately I run Futaba so I can't see if it was a brown out from the Rx like Spektrum users.

oh Heavans I am so sorry
I read this and had a small cry
I felt so bad for you.
were you using the Total G as the receiver ? if so did you have 3 saterlight receivers ?
I am not 100% sure that mine wasn't a brown out because unfortunatly the kind friend who picked up the remains turned it off , but I am fairly sure I checked and the lights were not blinking.
Also the throttle followed it commands and the tail held ok in flight.
I hate things like this as where do you go next ????????
I do have some advice go to the USofA (Run ryder) as they seem to have a good knowledge of the TG & ENV
As for the flybar any flybar of the same diameter (4MM ?) and around the same length may get you in the air again
I don't know what to say but I know how you feel so coming your way is my BIGGEST cyber hug .
to you X Rachel

Rachael, my 700 went over exactly the same when I had the original 3g fitted (remember playing around with that on its first flight !!!). I learnt that as soon as I'm on the floor, I got to full negative. just like you can't bugger about taking off, personally I don't think you can land and slowly lower the throttle like you can with a flybar.
Sorry to hear your model has gone in on its maiden. Thats a tough one.Cheers,
Simon

Helifreak is your best friend for the totalg. There is nothing else you need to read, the brown out issue is worrieing if it has to reset then initialise :-( . i run 3 sats on mine and some of us have an issue in the missed frame window not showing all the zero's but touch wood it seems to be ok, i no its not relevant now cus she's out of the air for repair :-( but make sure when your good to go the fcg is set to g view not assigned to a switch on your tx, had mine set to gear (dx7) and changed it today to g view, wow :-) .

I'm never quite sure on folks definition of brownout. To me it means rx reset. Now here with a loss of tail and then bizarre cyclics it could well be loss of flight electronics power..but doesn't necessarily mean the Rx reset or even went down. Whether the TG rebooted is another matter.Originally posted by steve_b View PostThe reason I suspect a brown out is that the heli tipping to the right is just like on initialisation when the TotalG tips the swash to the right, the piro would be the tail gyro losing tail authority, which could be similar to what you saw at least with the tipping right. As I understand it you still need a separate regulator (or 4-cell nihm) input... so a not-quite-totalG. What current capability do you have? I'm stunned by how much my fbl beastx 600 pulls..averaging 4.8A and I'm going to have to up the regulator system there, I think
EDIT... check dimensions on a trex700 flybar..should fitPGK

For me a brown out is a dip in the input voltage, and I suspect that is what I had as nothing else makes any sense. I also think the TotalG may be sensetive to input voltage and reset / rebooted which explains the loss of tail followed by the knife edge right. The power setup I'm using is the same as I use in my FB 700N, so I thought it would cope with it as I'm using the same type of Rx and servos, my only change is that I use a Gryphon regulator and the TotalG in the ENV so perhaps these are more power hungry than the multigov, solid G and ReactorX that I have in the 700NOriginally posted by pgkevet View PostI'm never quite sure on folks definition of brownout. I've had a look at the flybars on other 90's and it looks like the Velocity 90 is the nearest fit at 540mm long, the ENV's is 500, but I've decided that I'm not going to repair it now. I still want to go FBL with it so I'm going to wait for the FBL head parts to come into the UK, which should be in the next couple of weeks and repair it then. I'm also going to buy bigger Rx packs and replace the 610s with BLS451s as the Align servos have a reputation of being power hungry.
Thanks for the

I just want to fly so my Total G is undergoing a body transplant and now resides on the tailboom of a rex 500 ,eek.
I have been up until 1AM
two nights on the run to get him fixed , a friend (thanks Pete) has lent me his own Radix blades to get Dave flying again
It's set to be a loveley wind free day

Almost disaster again
well as thet say the "plot thickens",.....
I went to fly the Rave again, its second maiden and yet again all was not well eek !!!!
so what went wrong this time ,...... read on and enjoy .
well nothing and everything +
The nothing was it didnt crash and he didn't fly
but I did find out what has been going wrong ,yippie.........
So If you have been paying attention you will know the Total G install didn't go well at all resulting in a tip over on the first landing
I allways puzzled as to what had gone wrong and varions suggestions were given including it was Me !!!!! HUMPH indeed, my fault? I DONT THINK SO !!!!!
ok when I was originally setting up the TG (Total G) I had a couple of occurances when the elevator servo dipped down and seemed to glitch or judder , at the time as I was either right next to the model or when we set the TG up inside the steel container that serves as our club house, so I put it down as just the closeness of the TX to the model.
ok he was running and its second maiden time throttle up , he's getting light on the skids and OH MY GOD a massive elevator glitch 3 times in quick sucession , emergency shut down , engine off and a brown pants moment
stationary checking revealed that all was well so run the heli up with no blades , massive glitch, swap the elevator over with the aileron at the rx run him up again , Massive elevator glitch, result a faulty servo
now I wouldn't be too upset but these are top of the range JR 8717HV's £460 for a cyclic set no use at all and a massive crash due to a faulty servo,........ JR I am not ammused
So to recap the Total G is obviously ok
I fitted the flybared head for nothing .
oh well still unflown but at least I have found out why he crashed
I wonder if JR want to help with the rebuild costs ????????
Remember all
FLYBARLESS IS THE FUTURE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
untill next time hugs x Rachel
OH buy the way I flew the heck out of my Rex 700 today and its fab
