I am glad you found your problem. But I am not sure what might happen with Horizon on the crash damage over the bad servo. So I will extend this offer in good faith. I will split the cost of the ctrash parts with you no problem for you Rave ENV, just to help eeze the pain from this situation. While we were not responsible for the crash. I hate to see a maiden go that way, and would like to try and take that bad taste out of your mouth, and get that Rave back in the air. Just let me know the list, and I will do what I can to get it taken care of. With that said I am out of the US right now, but will do what I need to to make this happen when I get home. Just let me know if you are interested.

      Have a great day/night.

      Brian
      Wow
I really don't know what to say,........
There is the very obvious "Thank You!" , but that doesn't seem to be enough,
So I will explain a bit about CYE (Curtis Youngblood Enterprises) & Brian,,,
When you buy a Rave , big or baby , (ENV or 450) you join a family , you get access to a company who's customer service is second to none,

Curtis has a blog which is updated daily ,no matter what part of the world he is in, you can leave a comment and he will answer, just try doing that with a world champion F1 driver !

You can read on this blog the huge ammount of development that goes in to every product that they sell.

Brian (Buzzin Brian) on just about every forum you will find seems to spend his life on line answering questions and helping out
I have even seen them offer to ship a troublesome model back to themselves, fix it, have Curtis test fly it & ship it back, wow that is customer service above and beyond

So thank you doesn't cover Brian's kind offer but all the same
      Thank you so much !

I am now in a horrible place I have to wait for the faulty servo to go back to the USA to be repaired or replaced , a shiney new Rave ENV sitting upstairs , waiting ,........

Still Brian & CYE have eased my pain

's to all especially Brian (thats bound to get a comment )

            • Nice to see "CYE" keeping up the formidable customer support, thou not so good that model shop can not replace the servo, having spent that amount of your hard earned cash you would think it would be good customer support to just replace it and wait for"H/H" to replenish there stock also as this is now common knowledge on at least three forums not a great marketing tool.
On a more positive note is Brian coming over to push the pram when "Dave the Rave",goes for his baptisim.
Rachel you are a star for being so open and honest.

              The Very Best,

              Marty.

P/S Brian why not call in on Rachel on your flight home, you are assured of a warm wellcome plus a glass of wine

              • Thanks for the great comments guys and gals. Our company really cares about it's customers, and that will likely never change. We know what it is like being in this hobby, and understand some of it's frustrations at times. In this case it seems a great situation turned egg shaped really fast. Which I can certainly understand leaving a bad taste in someones mouth. So I figured it was only fare to ease that pain, and get that bad boy in the air. After it is in the air, I just know Rachel will love it! So again, I extend my offer to you Rachel. I will certainly help you out. It does look as if Dave is ready to fly. But just know, I am always here to help and answer questions.

                Marty,

I am in Hong Kong, and will be headed back to the US tomorrow. So no trip in between to the UK. With that said, we might do an event in the UK this next year if we can. (no promisses) We will see. If we do, I welcome anyone here to stop by our pit station to say hello. I enjoy meeting and helping our customers any time I can.

                Brian

                • Hi Rachel,

So sorry to hear about your misshap with your ENV.

While this may not have anything to do with your accident, I thought I'd mention something that I normally like to do when running a flight control system. I like to spool up (or spool down by lowering collective) fairly quickly to help prevent the gyros on a flight control system from reacting to cyclic phase shifting at lower rpms. I've witnessed this on flybarred helis too but flybars don't have as much authority as the flight control systems do. I believe it may be possible for a flight control system to react incorrectly when the cyclic phasing shifts (and flight control systems have a lot of control power).

Hope you get your ENV back into the air very quickly, they're a blast to fly....

                  • Hi Rachel,

What's the status of your ENV? Anxious to hear how close it is to being ready to fly again.

Hope you're back in the air soon!

                      Hi Don ,
I am sorry to say the ENV is still very sick the servos are actually nearer you than me , as they are with horizon hobbies for repair & testing.
Although unbenown to me they wer what we in the UK callk "Grey imports" that means they are not bought from the UK franchised distributor but via a back door source.
Unfortunatly that means that I am the one who paid the market price but cannot have the benefit of the normal uk back up and servicing.

I am quite aware that over 7000 people have viewed my build blog and to them I say
                      "I am so sorry !!!!"
I feel I owe you all the test flight & flight testing results but my hobby store who supplied the servo's will only say that they have sent them to horizon , so I must wait, tht's very sad .

I hope to give you all good news soon.

ok to be fair to the shop I was aware that they were american servos, as in the make Jr 8717HV's, BUT i was not aware they were imported and that would affect any warrenty claim.

for my 2 pence worth but Futaba Bls servos as I have them in my rex 700 they are FAB.

Any warranty is in addition to your statutory rights under Sale of Goods, etc.

The situation is obviously not satisfactory. I think I'd be pushing the retailer to do rather better, or else I'd be looking for a refund.
