I found the part numbers in one of your posts on another forum. I can get almost all the parts in the UK apart from the FBL head, but there appears to be no availability of this part in either the UK or US which has messed up my plans a bit.

Just a quick update I will try add to it later.

Last night I built the flybarless head which is very very nice and looks so good compared with my flybared helis

I finished the tailboom assembally including the torque tube and its support bearings. I found the rubbers that go over the bearings to be quite stiff but I warmed them in hot water and put a little WD40 on the bearings and they popped on with very little fuss and no broken nails

The front drive is next and that was also drama free the design being almost identical to a T rex 700 etc, and that works fine for me.

The supplied carbon tail blades are nice and look very black adding to the quite dark apperance of the heli, it's ag good job black goes well with pink !

The Total G arrived and its so small it's just amaizng how they do it its the size of a Jr receiver but is the Gyro, Govenor, Receiver, & flybarless controller just amaizing.

        's for now x Rachel

Does anyone know what the 'crash costs' are like for the Rave?

Actually not bad at all I looked on Fl & parts are the same or cheaper than a Rex 700

Or you could ask whoever it was who chashed at Charmouth

Yeah, I kept hearing the telltale dull thud throughout the day, of another heli going in. I think I counted 5 in the space of as many hours (and I may have missed one or two as well).

If the spares costs are comparable then I'd see it as the one to beat as the new everyday workhorse heli.

Hi Rachel. You led me to this forum .

Speaking of crash cost, it depends. I crashed my ENV fbl electric and looking at $300 in parts, excluding the blades. My buddy crashed his electric and he is looking at $440 excluding blades. Why so much? We concluded that because we are using 2 x 6s 5000mAh Turnigy, the ENV came in at 11.3 pounds of dead weigh and thus the heavy damage. Frames, boom, part of the rotor head, etc. The nitro version, I think, will have less damage due to the fact that it does not weight as much as the electric running 2 6s.

As for parts, the goods and bads:

Goods - due to the packaging of the replacement parts, you get all new parts when repairing the ENV so the heli is pretty much "new."

Bads - you pay for extra parts that you may not need.

For example, Align and Outrage will sell just the torque tube and you re-use the bearing, rubber housing and tt ends. With the ENV, you get new bearing, new rubber housing and new tt ends. Same with the tail housing assembly.

After my crash, I fly the ENV much higher now to give me time to save it from the dreaded dumb thumb

The build is looking very nice girl. You asked about the engine washer under the fan hub, and yes you need to use it. The final drawing of that part was to not use the washer, hence why it is not shown in the instructions. For whatever reason they made the fan hub from the drawing right before the final drawing. Hence why you now have to use the washer.

If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask.

                      Brian

The Rave crash at Charmouth was Jason Platts doing a full on blade stop that never came back and the blades folded. I think the damage was not too bad at all, I believe it landed flat on the head so no frames. BTW Rachel you need to look at your sig, Total G and Quark on the Rave....? It's just a guess but I think those fellas are going to conflict!
Worst crash at Charmouth was the Vibe SG with total G on it, that sucker will cost more to repair than all of Robt's crashes put together, yes that much!

i made this a while ago, note these prices are for the same amount of parts so if align give 2 i've counted 2 for the others for e.g-
