Just thought 1850 was low for a 90 nitro heli I run my v90 at 2000 as the engines in it's power band at 1950 so it bogs into it's power band it recovers quicker also It might speed your cyclic up a bit :0)

Needs to get my arse in gear and get my rave's v-bar set up

Had it built for over a month now

Really like the rave, in a different class to the 700 IMO

I own a 700 as well and really like that too

      Cheers

Hmmm mixed feelings for the Rave over here..

Its taken me ages to get it near how I would like it to fly and it still not quite there. I have a horrible interaction on the cyclic (140 ccpm). And it was soo blooming slow with the stock paddles and 710 radix it'd take a week to flip and when it came out it would be all skew wiff. To be fair now the model is a lot quicker with align 690's (soon to be 690 aggressors this weekend) and align white carbon paddles.

I was a cat's whisker away from converting to fbl but I think now i'm going to change to 120 ccpm and see how I get on with that.

quality of the parts? very good but disappointed on the amount of plastic on the head, which the original anti rotation pins fell out of :/.

Its not been the smoothest of experiences with the rave but things are looking up (y)

Kel 2000 is a bit high, you want to aim at 1950 max really, other wise your engine can start to run a bit hot, the only time I have run a90 that high was at the champs last year on my raptor 90 to try to overcome it's weight issue

I had one and loved it was a FBL Nitro kit. Ran a Vbar with it and it flew real nice, smooth and stable when needed or quick and punchy if desired.
While it is a very similar chassis layout to the Trex 700 (the tail drive gear housing looks almost identical) it is of a higher quality of parts.
I only got rid of mine because I made the move back to electrics and wanted something different.

The Raves a damn good heli, mines got a 120 in it. i believe they are a bit slow with a 90 in. definitely very 700 esq but of a higher quality and yes it a big heli but has great presence in the air. I prefer mine over my 700 atm but i think that will change once i get a big block for the 700

My experience with Raves was with a flybarred 450 and experienced exactly the same as 3DBish did with his 700/90, slow cyclic (Radix 350mm and stock paddles = very heavy disc!) and head interaction causing it to not fly/flip straight. I think Mr. Youngblood being a FAI/F3C pilot and also liking a smooth 3D machine makes his models very stable but painfully slow on cyclic! Align 325D blades and some KBDD paddles on the manly holes made it the fastest 450 on cyclic ide ever flown! I then put some thin washers behind the washout arms bringing them out a tad which slightly swivelled the swash round in relation to the head and put the phasing in line (stock it was out by about 5 degrees!), it then flew straight as an arrow.... till I crashed it and due to the design of the head it bent and at £30 a time I soon sold it!

When I first got my rave env it had a total g FBL and the flip roll rate was mental !! So much so I had to slow it right down !!!!!

I have an ENV and I've bought a ballistic, love the brand, looks great in the air and has been very reliable

Got a Rave ENV fb on the way which I won in an auction on this site. As a newbie to helis think I might be jumping in to deep but will give it a go. Will be looking for the rest of the parts needed to get it in the air very soon ie. engine, servos, batts, and radio gear. I do also have a spektrum DX8 on the way which i thing will do for this heli. Have spent hours on Phonix sim so hope all goes well. Wish me luck.
