  • Why are'nt there more Rave 90 ENV's around ??

Although I'm a JR pilot I really do like the look of the Rave 90ENV, especially in flybarless form. I think its a stunning looking machine and I'm really surprised that I have'nt seen many of them around the club fields where I fly.

Is it simply that there are now too many machines to choose from, or perhaps that due to the current economic climate most club pilots are simply not buying 90 size helicopters due to running costs ??

    Any thoughts ??

Well, Mark's got 3 of 'em now! Two for the F3C World Champs, plus a flybar-less one for fun!

He even entered the little 450 Rave in an international F3C comp in France - and didn't come last!!!

Brilliant machines! Saving up my pennies right now!

No matter how much you push the envelope, it'll still be stationery.

I've got one and really like it now it's in FBL form. It's not quite heli#1 yet, I still like my 700 too much, but it's going to be joint #1 soon

I think the reasons we're not seeing more of them is that they've taken almost 12 months to become generally available from the pre order stage and, most people cancelled their pre orders and went for Velo 90, Trex 700 or Avant.
The cost is also at the high end compared to other 90 size helis which may count against it.

For me Garry, I think under that canopy it's very trex 700 ish, don't ya think?

Never seen one close up or in the flesh so can't really comment but the reason I have not brought one is based purely on the looks.

I have a Rave ENV Nitro FBL.

It is a great machine, everything about it is better IMO compared to the Trex 700 except the price!! Design, quality of parts etc.

There are so many good machines in all classes now, that you don't see everyone jumping to new machines like you did 5-6 years ago.

The Trex 700 will be the most popular, but that is down to cost IMO.

Although the costs for the ENV are slightly higher that the Velo, Trex, IMO it is worth it. And I still remember the old days, which leaves me thinking all the current market machines seem cheap by comparison!!

I really like the look of them and if I had not had my sights set on the Avro I would have considered one. Now I have too many helis already so no additions unless I sell a few.

                I have one too
                It's a little bit PINK
They are Fab very very well deigned with fetures that only become apparent with use , such as easy quick engine & tank removal.

The only down side us soft cyclic response on the flybared which is just a personal thing.

I LOVE my Rave, he's called Dave you know

I would bet that with some agressive paddles, like the KBDD ones for example, hard dampers and a good headspeed the cyclics would be very punchy.

Must admit if I was to have a 2nd 90 machine it'd be the Rave 90

But right now the SG90 is fine for me

I am running a longer flybar off an Avant , Radix 105 paddles and 1850 on the head and he is loveley too fly , cyclic responce almost like a rex 700 but without all of the awfull interaction and phasing issues.

just for info I did try Kbdd but the were very odd arround the center sort of dead and untrimable.

The Rave is a really great heli.

not sure 1850 doesn't seem high when flying it .
