Jazz 40-6-18 would be fine, plenty of G5s using that ESC....the only issue (if you want the servos as fast as possible) is it's BEC only outputs 5V rather than 6V.

New align gyro servo combination (don't confuse it with the old telebeee type one!, follow robs link).
HS65MG on the swash.
With the 6 cell setup don't forget that you will need a more expensive charger capable of charging 6 cells. Allow best part of £100 for that. (probably the cellpro 10 cell one is best).
For the outrage vs the normal 450 size, choice of blades is much more limited. not seen many name brand carbons out yet. Probably best to buy a couple of sets when you find them somewhere. No probs with thre shafts and stuff that are the same as a trex450.
3,4 or 6 cells. Surely this outrage would fly well on 5 cells if one fits, its just that then you can charge two at a time on the cellpro charger. The outrage pack is 6 cell 1200? how about 5 cell 1500, or 1600 for the same sort of flight time?www.heli-extreme.co.uk a good club in south Sheffield

You are correct Gordon, 5S 1500/1600 would probably work quite well with the appropriate pinion. 350mm blades are not in huge supply currently but expect this to change as the Rave also takes 350mm blades and I expect to see all 450s move this direction as the bigger blade disc makes a big difference.

I've actually got a 2100t with a logictec servo. It was going on my H200. Using that's an option if I want to save money.Originally posted by moyesboy View PostGyros

Seems to be a consensus.HS65MG on the swash.
That's a good point - but I've already got a Cellpro 10S. (Which works out nearer £200 with a 30A PSU...)With the 6 cell setup don't forget that you will need a more expensive charger capable of charging 6 cells. Allow best part of £100 for that. (probably the cellpro 10 cell one is best).
Right now I was expecting to use the stock f/g blades, which are apparently beginner-friendly. I suppose I should check how available these are, or maybe buy some sets with the package. For the outrage vs the normal 450 size, choice of blades is much more limited. not seen many name brand carbons out yet. Probably best to buy a couple of sets when you find them somewhere.
This is an interesting area.3,4 or 6 cells. Surely this outrage would fly well on 5 cells if one fits, its just that then you can charge two at a time on the cellpro charger. The outrage pack is 6 cell 1200? how about 5 cell 1500, or 1600 for the same sort of flight time?
The way I see it, is that the energy a pack will store is directly related to its weight. You can get the same energy from various different voltage and mAh capacities. However, high V low A is more efficient (for the same power), as less energy is wasted as I**2R. So you should get better flight times from 6S.
Having said that, you make a good point about the Cellpro 10S charging two 5S packs, or one 6S pack. (There's an added complicatiion that if you're going to start charging the first 5S pack straight after flight {CP10S can charge hot packs}, you only have a single pack to charge. You can start charging a second midway through the first pack's charge cycle, but I've found that if the packs on the two channels are very out of balance with each other, charging tends to be a lot slower than if they're simlarly dischaged.)
However, I'm not sure I'll be able to charge on-site. [This may need a re-think]. However, if that's the case, I'm not so bothered about the charging as I am about getting good flight times per LiPo and per cost of the LiPos. This is one of the reasons that small, efficient models appeal.
Thanks. Interesting thoughts.Yes, it's th@ tw@ Scallyb@...

Yes. This is all part of the appeal.Originally posted by Smoothound View PostThe Outrage 6s packs are pretty cheap for what they do to be honest as well
It looks feasible to turn up on one's motorcycle (as one does...) with heli, Tx and a few LiPos, and get in probably as much flying as you can manage without having to recharge.
These packs are about £40 each. Not insignificant, but the cost of 4 of them is less than some of the numbers I've heard bandied around for single packs for some machines.
[Of course, if I could fly an H200 outdoors on £8 MaxPoly packs...
