it is a very very stable heli if you put it on the beginner settings and use the supplied black fiber glass blades. It runs very smoothly at 2400 RPM and I consider it to be one of the most docile 450s I've run in that configuration. So, yes, I would recommend it to a beginner, the extra length in the blades at 350mm makes it so much nicer than your usual 450 with 325mm blades.

You are dead right on the CCPM setup, it's so easy to get it interaction free and you notice that in flight....very very axial heli.

Difficult one this is for me as I run trextuning and I love the Align heli's BUT given a choice of a flight on my 450 SE V2 or one on the Outrage I'll pick the Outrage, it flies like a bigger machine and I get another two minutes of flight time. It also flies a lot more accurately than the V2 as there's absolutely no slop in the control system.

I guess so, I'll always like my V2 but it's being shown up a bit by the Outrage.......the V2 has been out quite a while now so it shouldn't be a surprise that more capable models are now appearing.

                  Which G5 ?

Want one. Want one. Want one...

I'm currently putting the 'spares kit' GAUI EP100 Pro together. I'm quite slow, and I want to make a fuss over this one to see how they fly when you actually get the CCPM linkages right, rather than bodging it with sub-trim (with the resulting interactions) like I did with the first one - though that doesn't seem to fly badly.

Then there's the birthday Hurricane 200 - which seems a bit easier to set-up, as the linkages are all 'straight'. This one should venture into the garden and wind...

Then I reckon I'll look at a G5. There's obviously a lot more to put together, though.

Which G5, though ? There's only £20 price difference between them. Is there a reason not to go for the C/F one ?

I guess in my case, robustness is more important than performnace...

I sort of wish I'd kept my G4 but the battery mounting, poxy canopy and servo horn running so tight to the frame put me off it. Mind you the truth is that at the time I had 4 450 size helis

fortunately the G5 doesn't have any of those issues.

First comparison I've seen of the G5 to a Beam E4. Almost exactly mirrors my thoughts of the G5 compared to the 450 SE V2.

Credit card is twitching, especially as my SEV2 is getting a bit worn now

I'd transfer most of the stuff from it into the G5 but it would mean buying another SBEC as I don't think I'd fully trust the Kontronik at 6s even though I do at 4s...

Is there a reason (well, £20...) not to go for the C/F one ?
