Slightly off topic, what's the average costs of these builds. I'm guessing £1000-£1400? range excluding packs?

Mine won't be near that much as I am using a 2nd hand motor, ESC and servos.

Just off the top of my head I think it's something like;

motor - £60.00
ESC - maybe £75.00
DS1015 servos X 3 I think I paid about £100.00 for the three and you could get Align 610s for that 2nd hand as well.
AR7000RX - £50.00
tail servo was new about £50.00 ish
I'll either use a GY401 gyro or CSM 720, both I already have but we can say £45.00 2nd hand price
Arizona reg I already have but I think they're about £60.00
2 cell Lipo for the Arizona - £15.00
Fusion flybarred kit - £252.00
5mm pinion support as the kit came with 6mm part. I think it was about £10.00

So about £717.00 by my calculations but I didn't spend all that just now as I had all the electrics already.

Main blades would be another £30 to £60 ish. (it comes with tail blades) I have a pair of 550mm Maveriks and NHPs.

Fusuno flourescent yellow frames are £24.99 and fins are £8.49, orange boom is about £9.00 for two.

I wish I had not added all that up as I would have guessed it was a bit cheaper :-o

Will be interesting to see what results you get as many want longer flight times, me I'm good with 5:30 and never fly longer but safe in the comfort that I can carry on after my timer goes off should I want as my packs always have around 22% up to 40% left, depending on flight style and rpm

Today at the field I got some ready-to-fly weights of a few different helis for comparison. I was curious about this because these are running on 6s setups and perform very well, no puffed packs and good flight times. I will say though, they are not being flown hard 3D but plenty of aero stuff and the 6s setups handle it very well.

The two I was most curious about are the Trex 550 and the Xcell Furion 6. The 550 has proven itself as a good performer on 6s and the assumption being that it must be really light. There are two Furions at our club, both running on Scorpion 4025 motors, Castle Ice 100 ESCs and V-Bars, 600mm edge blades and getting about 7 minute flight times.

So the two weighed up like this;

Trex 550 FBL, stock Align motor, weighed with one of my Turnigy 30-40c 5000mah packs - 3.140 kg (but this was minus the RX battery, but if it was running on a BEC it would prob only be 30/40 grams ish more)

XCell Furion, Scorpion motor, V-Bar, not sure of other electrics, weighed with Nanotech 5000mah LiPo - 3.560 kg

My Outrage 550 with Hacker motor, flybarred, 550mm NHPs, 2500mah 2cell RX Lipo with reg, wieghed with Turnigy 30-40c 5000mah - 3.340 kg I have been flying for 7 minutes of sport 'big air' type stuff and only drawing about 70%.

Sooooo, the point of this exercise is that I'm pretty sure the Fusion will be lighter than the Xcell, meaning it should perform very similarly on the 4025 Scorpion. Not crazy insane power, but should be a good balance of power and flight times and using the LiPos I already have.

Hey all how many of you are having problems with your black gears main and tail boxes so far on my N2 ive had the tail output shalft gear strip and 10 flights later a tooth fall of a main gear ,,and a friends fuison today was madained and on his second hovering flight a tooth was found off his tail output shalf gear ,, all the gears were meshed nicely ,, do any of you have any tips or soulitions

Did you check the boom block as per the guidelines as this is the issue for stripping gears.

Yea Ben i have all that done and the tail gears shimed so there is no slop as the outrage guys said to do on there support fourm

Its a scorpian 130 esc and motor 12s on opti power in the fusion and beast x
Yea the mesh is just like the align but i have never had a tooth come off my 600 main gear in over 1600 flights unless i touch the tail or pile it and with in 20 flights one comes off the black main gear meshed as per the instructions
I enjoy flying the N2 so much but its really p***ing me off and im putting it down to a few teething problems but my outrage needs to get some reilablty b4 it looking for a new home
